Comparative study of elective cholecystectomy with and without antimicrobial prophylaxis: A prospective randomized study

open access: yesAsian Journal of Medical Sciences
Background: Cholecystectomy is one of the most common, clean, and contaminated surgery operations performed by surgeons worldwide. Antibiotic prophylaxis in elective cholecystectomy is a controversial issue and our study was undertaken to evaluate the ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

A Faster Active Package to Cell Balancing of Battery Management System Using Isolated CUK Converter with Switch Matrix

open access: yesGazi Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Dergisi
This paper proposes a faster active package to cell (P2C) balancing battery management system (BMS) by using a proportion-integration (PI) controlled isolated CUK converter (ICC) with a cell-selective switch matrix (SWM). The high power capability of the

Jet energy flow at the LHC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We present a quantitative study of energy flow away from jets by numerically solving the evolution equation derived by Banfi, Marchesini and Smye (BMS), and apply the result to two processes at the LHC: Discriminating high-p_t jets originating from ...

BM barış gücü

open access: yes, 2021

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Long Short-Term Memory Approach to Predict Battery SOC

open access: yesRevue des Énergies Renouvelables
Estimating the ‘State of Charge’ (SOC) is a complex endeavour. Data-driven techniques for SOC estimation tend to offer higher prediction accuracy compared to traditional methods.

Gut microbiota diversity is prognostic in metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy and immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this exploratory study, we investigated the relationship between the gut microbiota and outcome in patients with metastatic hormone receptor‐positive breast cancer, treated in a randomized clinical trial with chemotherapy alone or chemotherapy in combination with immune checkpoint blockade.

Holography in asymptotically flat space-times and the BMS group

open access: yes, 2004
In a previous paper (hep-th/0306142) we have started to explore the holographic principle in the case of asymptotically flat space-times and analyzed in particular different aspects of the Bondi-Metzner-Sachs (BMS) group, namely the asymptotic symmetry ...

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.
