Noninvasive estimation of fluid shifts between body compartments by measurement of bioelectric characteristics [PDF]

open access: yes
Previous research has established that bioelectrical characteristics of the human body reflect fluid status to some extent. It has been previously assumed that changes in electrical resistance (R) and reactance (X) are associated with changes in total ...

Surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy for the forensic analysis of vaginal fluid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Vaginal fluid is most often found at crime scenes where a sexual assault has taken place or on clothing or other items collected from sexual assault victims or perpetrators.

Basroparib inhibits YAP‐driven cancers by stabilizing angiomotin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Basroparib, a selective tankyrase inhibitor, suppresses Wnt signaling and attenuates YAP‐driven oncogenic programs by stabilizing angiomotin. It promotes AMOT–YAP complex formation, enforces cytoplasmic YAP sequestration, inhibits YAP/TEAD transcription, and sensitizes YAP‐active cancers, including KRAS‐mutant colorectal cancer, to MEK inhibition.

Interplay between RNA‐protein interactions and RNA structures in gene regulation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Methodological advances in mapping transcriptome‐wide RNA‐protein interactions and RNA structures have started to uncover the potential of RNP conformations in gene regulation. Competing RNA–RNA, RNA‐protein and protein–protein interactions shape the compaction and function of RNPs throughout their lifetime and may provide novel therapeutic targets in ...

Uncovering dark mass in population proteomics: Pan-analysis of single amino acid polymorphism relevant to cognition and aging

open access: yesCell Genomics
Summary: Human proteome data across populations have been analyzed extensively to reveal protein quantitative associations with physiological or pathological states, while the single amino acid polymorphism (SAP) has been rarely investigated.

Homologous expression and purification of human HAX‐1 for structural studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This research protocol provides detailed instructions for cloning, expressing, and purifying large quantities of the intrinsically disordered human HAX‐1 protein, N‐terminally fused to a cleavable superfolder GFP, from mammalian cells. HAX‐1 is predicted to undergo posttranslational modifications and to interact with membranes, various cellular ...

Comparative study of conventional Papanicolaou and ultrafast Papanicolaou stains in fine needle aspiration samples and body fluids

open access: yesJournal of Pathology of Nepal
Background: Ultra Papanicolaou stain was introduced as a hybrid of Romanowsky and Papanicolaou stains. It enhances the quality and reduces the time. Materials and Methods: Five hundred and ninety-five fine needle aspiration and body fluid samples were ...
