EFFECT OF PULLET BODY WEIGHT ON AGE AT SEXUAL MATURITY, MATURE BODY WEIGHT AND EGG QUALITY [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, 2001
The birds heavier at 20 weeks of age were also heavier at 40 weeks of age. But the magnitude of increase in body weight was lesser for higher body weight classes. The age at sexual maturity was lower for higher body weight classes.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

The weight of weight: The salience of body weight in the impression formation process

open access: yesInternational Journal of Obesity
Western societies preach slimness. However, overweight and obesity are increasing. Overweight individuals often face weight discrimination. No studies have investigated the salience of body weight in the impression formation. This study aims to examine the salience of the overweight attribute in shaping first impressions. Forty-nine participants (Mage =
