Phylogenetic Relationships, Character Evolution, and Two New Species in Hemiboea (Didymocarpoideae, Trichosporeae)

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2025.
This paper describes two new species of Hemiboea based on molecular and morphological evidence. Furthermore, we trace the evolution of eight important morphological characters in Hemiboea, which indicates whether the involucre is early deciduous and whether there are two protuberances on the inner ventral surface of the corolla, which may be the key ...

Bavachalcone targets transferrin receptor and sensitizes gemcitabine to affect bladder cancer progression

open access: yesiMeta, Volume 4, Issue 5, October 2025.
Transferrin (Tf) binds extracellular Fe3+ and interacts with transferrin receptor (TFRC) on the cell membrane, leading to endocytosis. Iron is reduced by STEAP3, transported by DMT1 into the cytoplasm, then enters mitochondria to support Fe–S cluster formation, mitochondrial respiration, and ATP production.

Using Ecological Modeling to Study the Response of Distribution Dynamics of Paraglenea fortunei (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) to Human Activities and Climate Change to in Northeast Asia

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 7, July 2025.
In recent years, global climate change has become a critical issue affecting various aspects of ecosystems, including the distribution patterns of species. Our study focuses on the distribution dynamics of Paraglenea fortunei in Northeast Asia in response to human activities and climate change.

Trans‐Atlantic Dispersal and Introgression Explain Holarctic Disjunct Distributions in Vanessa Butterflies

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 11, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Species with disjunct distributions have long puzzled evolutionary biologists and biogeographers. Long‐distance dispersal can play a pivotal role in generating intra‐specific disjunct distributions, initiating early stages of allopatric speciation and leading to eventual interspecific disjunctions.

Euonymus chengduanus (Celastraceae), a New Species Unexpectedly Discovered in an Urban Forest Park in the Megacity of Chengdu, West China

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2025.
This study discovered a new plant species within the urban area and named it Chengdu for the first time. This discovery implies that even in intensively anthropogenic‐impacted areas adjacent to large cities, undocumented plant diversity may still exist.

DNA Metabarcoding Illuminates Seasonal Dietary Pattern and Niche Partitioning by Three Sympatric Herbivores

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2025.
In our research, we found extensive trophic niche overlap based on the trnL metabarcoding sequencing, while dietary partitioning may facilitate species coexistence. Our results provide new insights into seasonal diets and inter‐species relationships for sympatric herbivores.
