Biodegradation of tricyclic terpanes in crude oils from the Bohai Bay Basin

Organic Geochemistry, 2016
Abstract A suite of 33 biodegraded crude oils from the Miaoxi Depression and Liaodong Bay, Bohai Bay Basin, China were analyzed to investigate the effect of biodegradation on biomarkers. Among these samples, sequential biodegradation of C19–C26 tricyclic terpanes was observed in the most degraded crude oils, in which C27–C29 regular steranes and ...

Lacustrine carbonates of Paleogene in Zhanhua Sag, Bohai Bay Basin, East China

Carbonates and Evaporites, 2018
The lacustrine carbonate has become an important exploration target, as the carbonates in half-graben Zhanhua Sag, a typical petroliferous lacustrine deposit, are not well-documented. Here the depositional characteristics, distribution patterns and controlling factors of the lacustrine carbonate deposition in Zhanhua Sag were studied, using seismic ...

Methyltrimethyltridecylchromans (MTTCs) in lacustrine sediments in the northern Bohai Bay Basin, China

Organic Geochemistry, 2019
Abstract Although methyltrimethyltridecylchromans (MTTCs) have been identified and studied for over 30 years in a large number of sediment extracts and crude oils, their origins and significance for palaeosalinity are still debated. Here, the geochemical features of MTTCs in 133 organic-rich lacustrine sediments obtained from the northern Bohai Bay ...

Meso-cenozoic tectono-thermal evolution history in Bohai Bay Basin, North China

Journal of Earth Science, 2014
The thermal history of sedimentary basins is a key factor for hydrocarbon accumulation and resource assessment, and is critical in the exploration of lithospheric tectono-thermal evolution. In this paper, the Cenozoic thermal histories of nearly 200 wells and the Mesozoic thermal histories of 15 wells are modeled based on the vitrinite reflectance and ...

Petroleum charging and leakage in the BZ25-1 field, Bohai Bay basin

Journal of Earth Science, 2012
This paper discusses origin and charging histories of the Bozhong (渤中) 25-1 field (BZ25-1) in the Bozhong sub-basin, Bohai (渤海) Bay basin. Petroleum is contained in both Paleogene and Neogene reservoirs in the BZ25-1 field. The origin of the field was studied using biomarker distributions for 61 source rock samples and 34 oil samples.

Genetic Types of Natural Gas in the Dongpu Depression, Bohai Bay Basin

Proceedings, 2018
Summary this paper analyzed the genesis of Paleogene gas from major gas fields in the Dongpu depression, and proposed a comprehensive classification for three types of genetic gas combined with the special geological conditions.

Petroleum Exploration Prospect of the Chengbei Sag, Bohai Bay Basin, Offshore China

Proceedings, 2017
Summary Located in the sea area of the Bohai Bay Basin, offshore China, Chengbei Sag is a NW-trending Cenozoic half graben, with faulting in the northeast direction and overlapping in the southwest direction. The differential evolution of the NW-trending sag-controlling fault in the northeastern part results in two sub-sags in the northern and southern
