Quantitative source apportionment of heavy metals in sediments from the Bohai Sea, China.

Marine Pollution Bulletin, 2023
In this study, the sources of nine heavy metals (Cd, As, Hg, Cu, Pb, Ni, Cr, Zn, and Co) in the sediments of the Bohai Sea were quantitatively identified through a positive factor matrix to provide better advice for marine and coastal management.

Inter-annual variation of Sea Surface Temperature in the Bohai Sea

2012 9th International Conference on Fuzzy Systems and Knowledge Discovery, 2012
Sea Surface Temperature (SST) is an auxiliary parameter of quantitative detection of the sea environment, which has showed comprehensive results of the sea thermal, dynamic process and the air-sea interaction, such as the research of oceanography issue, which includes ocean circulation, water mass, ocean temperature and salt peak, upwelling and sea ...

Distribution and abundance of oil-degrading bacteria in seawater of the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea, China.

Science of the Total Environment, 2023
Petroleum hydrocarbons are widespread in seawater. As an important sea area in northern China, the content and distribution of petroleum hydrocarbons in seawater need our attention because of the high toxicity and lasting polluting effects on the ...

Chlorophyll-a Spatial Distribution in Bohai Sea from 2006 to 2007 II - The Whole Bohai Sea

2010 International Conference on Challenges in Environmental Science and Computer Engineering, 2010
The investigation on the ecology of Bohai Sea which was surveyed in 2006 (August, December) -2007 (April, October) is the largest survey on this area in the last 30 years, following the first two large scale surveys in 1980s. In this paper, the data of chlorophyll-a of 121 survey stations are collected to indicate the spatial distribution of ...

Annual cycle and budgets of nutrients in the Bohai sea

Journal of Ocean University of Qingdao, 2002
High concentrations of dissolved inorganic nitrogen and phosphate contributed much to the environmental problems in the Bohai Sea in the last decade. It is important to understand the cycle and the budget of nutrients for the environmental management.

Implications of ocean warming and acidification on heavy metals in surface seawater of the Bohai Sea.

Journal of Hazardous Materials
At present, a clear dependency of the dynamics upon temperature and pH has not been established for many heavy metals (HMs), so making it difficult to project and quantify the impact of ocean warming and acidification on metal biogeochemistry in future ...

Spatiotemporal dynamics of ammonia-oxidizing archaea and bacteria contributing to nitrification in sediments from Bohai Sea and South Yellow Sea, China.

Science of the Total Environment, 2022
Nitrification is a central process in nitrogen cycle in the ocean. Ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) and bacteria (AOB) play significant roles in ammonia oxidation which is the first and rate-limiting step in nitrification, and their differential ...

Investigating the levels, spatial distribution, and trophic transfer patterns of short-chain chlorinated paraffins in the Southern Bohai Sea, China.

Water Research
The marine environment of the southern Bohai Sea is severely polluted by short-chain chlorinated paraffins (SCCPs). To improve understanding of how SCCPs occur and of how they migrate, are transformed, and transferred in this area, we collected seawater,

Nutrient budgets for the Bohai Sea: Implication for ratio imbalance of nitrogen to phosphorus input under intense human activities.

Marine Pollution Bulletin, 2022
Eutrophication is a global problem for coastal ecosystems, one that the Bohai Sea (BHS), China, is severely afflicted by due to rapid economic and social development over the last forty years.

Risk assessment of trace metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in seawater of typical bays in the Bohai Sea.

Marine Pollution Bulletin
The ecological risks of trace metals (Cu, Zn, As, Cd, Pb, and Hg) and PAHs in seawater from three typical bays of the Bohai Sea (the Liaodong Bay, Bohai Bay, and Laizhou Bay) were comprehensively assessed by recompiling 637 sites.
