Chlorophyll-a Spatial Distribution in Bohai Sea from 2006 to 2007 II - The Whole Bohai Sea

2010 International Conference on Challenges in Environmental Science and Computer Engineering, 2010
The investigation on the ecology of Bohai Sea which was surveyed in 2006 (August, December) -2007 (April, October) is the largest survey on this area in the last 30 years, following the first two large scale surveys in 1980s. In this paper, the data of chlorophyll-a of 121 survey stations are collected to indicate the spatial distribution of ...

Annual cycle and budgets of nutrients in the Bohai sea

Journal of Ocean University of Qingdao, 2002
High concentrations of dissolved inorganic nitrogen and phosphate contributed much to the environmental problems in the Bohai Sea in the last decade. It is important to understand the cycle and the budget of nutrients for the environmental management.

Bohai Sea Ice Conditions

Journal of Cold Regions Engineering, 2000
Oil and gas exploration and production and other maritime activities are rapidly increasing in the Bohai Sea. Since sea ice occurs every winter in this region, it poses serious threats to these activities. The presence of sea ice has caused severe damages to offshore structures and losses of production in this region.

The microwave scattering characteristics of sea ice in the Bohai Sea

Acta Oceanologica Sinica, 2016
Microwave remote sensing has become the primary means for sea-ice research, and has been supported by a great deal of field experiments and theoretical studies regarding sea-ice microwave scattering. However, these studies have been barely carried in the Bohai Sea. The sea-ice microwave scattering mechanism was first developed for the thin sea ice with

Research advances in remote sensing monitoring of sea ice in the Bohai sea

Earth Science Informatics, 2021
As a key marine economic zone of China, human social and economic activities are very frequent in the Bohai Sea. The timely acquisition of sea ice parameters is of great significance for the prevention and mitigation of sea ice disasters, the utilization of sea ice re-sources, and the design of marine projects in the Bohai Sea.

The observed currents in summer in the Bohai Sea

Chinese Journal of Oceanology and Limnology, 2008
A harmonic method was used to analyze the tidal currents observed in summer at 11 stations made from 1996 to 2001 in the Bohai Sea, China. Data was compared among different instruments and intervals. Elliptic elements were calculated based on harmonic constants, of which vertical distributions of the maximum speed and rotation direction were discussed ...

The application of GDGTs proxies to the Bohai sea

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2020
GDGT proxies were used to analyze sediment provenance and mean annual temperature in the Shaleitian salient in the Bohai Sea. The results showed that the provenance of sediment in Shaleitian salient was partly terrigenous and partly from the ocean itself.

Environmental management of the Bohai Sea in China

Marine Pollution Bulletin, 1991
Abstract The Boahi Sea is the largest enclosed sea in China and rich in marine resources. The economy along the coast of the Bohai Sea is developed rapidly and the economic zone around the Bohai Sea has already formed. With the marine exploitation and the development of industries along the coast of the Bohai Sea, the pressure on it is getting ...

Modeling and Forecasting of Bohai Sea Ice

Journal of Cold Regions Engineering, 2000
The sea ice model for simulating ice growth, decay, and drift in the Bohai Sea was developed based on the ice conditions in the Sea and on existing sea ice models. Both dynamic and thermodynamic processes of sea ice are incorporated into the model. The viscous-plastic constitutive law is applied to estimate the internal ice stress.

Feeding activities of zooplankton in the Bohai Sea

Fisheries Oceanography, 1998
The Bohai Sea was the site of the Chinese national GLOBEC programme. During the June 1997 cruises of R/V Science No.1, observations and experiments on zooplankton feeding were conducted. At five 48 h time‐series stations the following observations and measurements on zooplankton were carried out: (1) diurnal vertical migration, by collecting samples at
