Photothermal–Magnetocaloric Coupled Evaporators for Actively Adjustable Water Evaporation and Oil–Water Purification in Complex Environments

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A photothermal–magnetocaloric coupled aerogel evaporator is developed for actively adjustable water evaporation in complex environments. Magnetocaloric heating provides active energy compensation under low‐light conditions and disrupts interfacial hydrogen‐bond networks to promote evaporation.

Macroscale distribution of virioplankton and heterotrophic bacteria in the Bohai Sea

open access: yes, 2016
In light of limited research into the relationship between the macroscale distribution and dynamic changes of microplankton in the shallow Bohai Sea, here we used flow cytometry to analyse samples collected from the Bohai Sea channel in winter and summer.

Antibiotics in the offshore waters of the Bohai Sea and the Yellow Sea in China: Occurrence, distribution and ecological risks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The ocean is an important sink of land-based pollutants. Previous studies showed that serious antibiotic pollution occurred in the coastal waters, but limited studies focused on their presence in offshore waters.

Heavy Metal Pollution and Risk Assessment in Different Species of Fish from the Bohai Sea

open access: yesProgress in Fishery Sciences
The Bohai Sea, which is China's only semi-enclosed inland sea, has received significant inputs of heavy metals from the rapidly industrializing and urbanizing Bohai Sea Economic Rim.

Phylogenetic Structure of Synechococcus Assemblages and Its Environmental Determinants in the Bay and Strait Areas of a Continental Sea

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2022
Marine Synechococcus, a significant contributor to primary production, shows high phylogenetic diversity. However, studies on its phylogenetic composition in the Bohai Sea, the largest continental sea in China, are lacking.

Variability of sea ice area in the Bohai Sea from 1958 to 2015

open access: yesScience of The Total Environment, 2020
With the backdrop of continuous global change, it is beneficial to create consistent long-term records of sea ice area on regional scales for ice disaster prevention and risk mitigation. In this study, a piecewise multiple nonlinear regression model was developed to reconstruct long-term daily sea ice area dataset in the Bohai Sea from 1958 to 2015 by ...

Origin of the Bohai Sea Basin, North China Craton, and implications for bidirectional back-arc extension in the East Asian continental margin [PDF]

open access: yesSolid Earth
The Bohai Sea Basin in eastern China is located in a back-arc extensional regime due to northwestward subduction of the Philippine Sea Plate and westward subduction of the Pacific Plate underneath the Eurasian Plate.

High Efficiency NIR Luminescence Beyond 900 nm Through Promoting Cr3+ Pair Generation in Sr3Zr2O7 Layered Perovskite

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A Cr3+/La3+ codoped Sr3Zr2O7 NIR phosphor showing luminescence at ∼960 nm with high IQE/EQE (92.4%/57.5%) and good thermal stability was developed. La3+ stabilizes Cr3+ and induces Cr3+ pairs, enabling efficient blue‐to‐NIR conversion for underwater wireless optical communication.
