Teste imunoenzimático com base em anticorpo monoclonal para a detecção de anticorpos contra os herpesvírus bovino tipos 1 e 5 A monoclonal antibody-based enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for detection of antibodies to bovine herpesvirus types 1 and 5

Assessment of Risk Factors Related to Environmental Factors and Herd Management for Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus and Bovine Parainfluenza Virus‐3 Infections Frequently Observed in Beef and Dairy Cattle

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 4, July 2025.
In this study, molecular diagnosis of BRSV and BPIV3 factors was aimed and risk factors were tried to be determined by considering ‘environmental factors’, ‘herd management factors’ and ‘infection‐related factors.’ RT‐PCR technique was used for the molecular detection of pathogens and multivariate and univariate statistical analyses were performed ...

Humoral Immune Response of Mice against a Vaccine Candidate Composed of a Chimera of gB of Bovine Alphaherpesviruses 1 and 5

open access: yesVaccines, 2023
Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (IBR) and bovine meningoencephalitis are caused by Bovine alphaherpesvirus (BoHV) types 1 and 5, which seriously threaten the global cattle industry. Vaccination to improve immunity is the most direct and effective means

Thoracic Ultrasonography Findings and Their Association With Respiratory Pathogens in 221 Young Beef Cattle at Fattening Farms: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Volume 39, Issue 4, July/August 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Thoracic ultrasonography (TUS) could improve antibiotic treatment selection in cattle with respiratory diseases. Hypothesis/Objectives Evaluate the association between respiratory pathogens and consolidations on TUS in feedlot cattle, at both individual and group levels. Animals A total of 221 bulls, aged 8.8 months and weighing 322.

Silver Nanoparticle‐Mediated Antiviral Efficacy against Enveloped Viruses: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, Volume 9, Issue 5, May 2025.
Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) exhibit broad‐spectrum antiviral activity by targeting key viral structures and processes. They disrupt viral envelopes, compromising integrity, and bind to nucleocapsids, impairing viral replication. AgNPs also inhibit glycoprotein interactions, preventing viral attachment and entry into host cells.

Application of microfluidic technologies in veterinary science with a view toward development of animal‐on‐a‐chip models

open access: yesVIEW, Volume 6, Issue 1, February 2025.
Other than human‐based application, it is important for microfluidics technology to be integrated in the field of veterinary science. With current but limited existing studies and experience from plenty of human‐oriented microfluidics applications, microfluidics technologies will bring tremendous benefit to the welfare and healthcare of various animal ...

Regulation of Krüppel-Like Factor 15 Expression by Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1 or Bovine Herpesvirus 1 Productive Infection

open access: yesViruses, 2021
Expression of Krüppel-like factor 15 (KLF15), a stress-induced transcription factor, is induced during bovine herpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1) reactivation from latency, and KLF15 stimulates BoHV-1 replication.

Screening and Identification of Multiple Peptides Homologous to the Fusion Glycoprotein Gc of Schmallenberg Virus Able to Inhibit Viral Infection

open access: yesTransboundary and Emerging Diseases, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Arthropod‐borne viruses have been responsible for several emerging infections, causing a global issue in both human and veterinary fields. Within the Orthobunyaviruses, a novel and major member is the Schmallenberg virus (SBV) first detected in central Europe in 2011, and soon after was able to spread all over the continent by causing severe infection ...
