Análise antigênica de Herpesvírus Bovino tipos 1 (BoHV-1) e 5 (BoHV-5) com anticorpos monoclonais

open access: diamondActa Scientiae Veterinariae, 2018

This paper reports the detection of bovine herpesvirus type 5 (BoHV-5) by a specific nested PCR assay. Samples were collected from the central nervous system (CNS) of cattle from Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo States, Brazil. All animals died presenting neurological symptoms.

Bio-Safety Technology in Production of Bovine Herpesvirus Type 5 (BoHV-5) Using an Alternative Serum-Free Medium [PDF]

open access: greenAmerican Journal of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2007
The detection and growth of bovine herpes virus type 5 (BoHV-5) was evaluated in three different media without foetal bovine serum or animal protein by infecting three different cell lines. The OPTI-PRO, VP-SFM and RPMI 1640 media were supplemented by L-glutamine, antibiotics added by 5µg of insulin-like growth factor (IGF-I) and used to adapt CER ...

Análise da região carbox-terminal da glicoproteína C (gC) e sua utilização na diferenciação entre Herpesvírus Bovino Tipos 1 (BoHV-1) e 5 (BoHV-5)

open access: diamondActa Scientiae Veterinariae, 2018

Differential expression of cyclins mRNA in neural tissues of BoHV-1- and BoHV-5- infected cattle [PDF]

open access: goldMicrobial Pathogenesis, 2019
AbstractIntroductionBovine alphaherpesvirus types 1 (BoHV-1) and 5 (BoHV-5) are closely related alphaherpesviruses. BoHV-5 causes non-suppurative meningoencephalitis in calves. BoHV-1 is associated with several syndromes and, occasionally, can cause encephalitis.

Monitoring Pathogens in Free-Living Large Herbivores in a Nature Reserve in the Netherlands. [PDF]

open access: yesTransbound Emerg Dis
Monitoring and surveillance of pathogens are crucial for safeguarding animal and public health. While passive surveillance is more common for wild and free‐living animals, active monitoring improves the detection and characterisation of specific pathogens relevant to animal and public health.

Detection of bovine herpesvirus 5 (BoHV-5) in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded bovine brain by nested PCR in Colombian cattle Detección de herpesvirus bovino 5 (BoHV-5) en cerebro incluido en parafina y fijado en formalina, por PCR anidada, en bovinos colombianos Detecção de herpesvírus bovino 5 (BoHV-5) em cérebro incluído em parafina e fixado em formalina, pela PCR, em bovinos colombianos

open access: greenRevista Colombiana de Ciencias Pecuarias, 2010
Fifteen cases of viral meningoencephalitis in Colombian cattle were tested by nested PCR analysis for the detection of bovine herpesvirus 5 (BoHV-5). All fatal cases had shown severe neurological signs and had occurred following natural outbreaks of the disease.

Phage‐Inducible Chromosomal Islands as a Diagnostic Platform to Capture and Detect Bacterial Pathogens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 10, Issue 24, August 25, 2023., 2023
In this report, a new PICI‐based platform is showcased to detect and identify bacteria. In contrast to other diagnostic approaches, this strategy can additionally distinguish whether the pathogens are alive. PICI‐based infection of target hosts is simple and efficient, allowing us to demonstrate the implementation of the technique in an easy‐to‐use ...
