Boil-off gas handling for LNG-carriers with a low-swirl burner
Wärtsilä is looking into a new technology for boil-off gas handling. The technology chosen for further research is a low-swirl burner. This burner has shown promising NOx emission results which is a problem inside the shipping industry. The system is a combined high/low-swirl burner that could handle both premixed- and none-premixed mixture.

Cryogenic tank configuration and capacity of centrifugal boil-off gas compressors
BACKGROUND: During the marine transportation of liquefied natural gas, the transported energy carrier constantly changes its physical state as the gas partly condenses becoming liquid and partly evaporates becoming gas, increasing the pressure in the cargo tanks.

ELABELA Targets Mitochondria to Modulate Heart Development
The role of peptide ELABELA (ELA) in cardiomyocyte apoptosis and congenital heart disease (CHD) is unclear. ELA deficiency caused cardiomyocyte apoptosis and CHD. A novel ELA‐APJ‐AKT‐BCL2/BAX axis in regulating mitochondrial function and contributing to CHD pathogenesis was established.

Managing Jetty Boil-Off Gas for More Sustainable LNG Export Terminals
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is a key component in the global energy mix, offering a cleaner alternative to traditional fossil fuels. Managing boil-off gas (BOG) at export terminals, however, presents significant challenges. If not properly managed, BOG can compromise safety, waste resources, and pollute the environment.
