Saacke Gas Combustion Unit -Safety and Economical Backup for Boil-Off Gas Treatment
Until recently, LNG carriers have been equipped with steam propulsion systems. Boil-Off Gas (BOG) is then fired in the steam generating plant by dual fuel burners. When the amount of BOG is greater than required for propulsion, excess steam is dumped into the main condenser of the steam turbine and cooled down.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

A robust plant protein adhesive was prepared by fabricating a bi‐continuous organic–inorganic hybrid structure. Compared with traditional organic–inorganic hybrid adhesives, the addition amount of inorganic phase is increased from 0.2%–3.0% to 50%, and the strength and toughness are increased by 6 and 121 times, respectively.

Seismic Performance Evaluation of Boil-Off Gas Compressor in LNG Terminal [PDF]
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminals, one of the lifeline facilities, need to be protected by a proper seismic design against extreme earthquakes. An LNG terminal consists of a series of process facilities that are connected by pipelines of various sizes.

Reduced Graphene Oxide Transparent Electrodes Enabling Compact Soft Tunable Lenses
By spray‐coating an elastomeric membrane with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) at various surface densities, elastomeric actuators are manufactured. Electro‐mechano‐optical characterizations show the suitability of rGO as an effective material for compliant, semi‐transparent electrodes, enabling soft electrically tunable lenses with a compact form factor ...
