The boiling suppression of liquid nitrogen [PDF]

open access: yesCryogenics 49, 221 (2009)., 2008
When He gas is injected from room temperature into boiling liquid N$_{2}$, boiling is suppressed, leaving liquid surface flat like a mirror. Although the qualitative explanation for this phenomenon is known [Minkoff G J \textit{et al}. Nature 1957;180(4599):1413-4.], it has not been studied quantitatively and comprehensively yet.

Peripheral blood proteome biomarkers distinguish immunosuppressive features of cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Immune status significantly influences cancer progression. This study used plasma proteomics to analyze benign 67NR and malignant 4T1 breast tumor models at early and late tumor stages. Immune‐related proteins–osteopontin (Spp1), lactotransferrin (Ltf), calreticulin (Calr) and peroxiredoxin 2 (Prdx2)–were associated with systemic myeloid‐derived ...

Nucleate Boiling Simulation using Interface Tracking Method [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The development and validation of 3D multiphase computational fluid dynamics (M-CFD) models and physics-informed data-driven modeling require data of high-quality and high-resolution. Considering the difficulties in acquiring the corresponding experimental data in prototypical conditions, two-phase boiling simulations by Interface Tracking Method (ITM)

Wetting controlled boiling at the nanoscale [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Boiling is the out-of-equilibrium transition which occurs when a liquid is heated above its vaporization temperature. At the nanoscale, boiling may be triggered by irradiated nanoparticles immersed in water or nanocomposite surfaces and often results in micro-explosions.

Percolative scale-free behavior in the boiling crisis [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Lett. 122, 134501 (2019), 2018
We present the first experimental observations of scale-free behavior in the bubble footprint distribution during the boiling crisis of water, in pool and flow boiling conditions. We formulate a continuum percolation model that elucidates how the scale-free behavior emerges from the near-wall stochastic interaction of bubbles and provides a criterion ...

ShcD adaptor protein drives invasion of triple negative breast cancer cells by aberrant activation of EGFR signaling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identified adaptor protein ShcD as upregulated in triple‐negative breast cancer and found its expression to be correlated with reduced patient survival and increased invasion in cell models. Using a proteomic screen, we identified novel ShcD binding partners involved in EGFR signaling pathways.

Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells

Oscillate boiling from microheaters [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Fluids, 2017
We report about an intriguing boiling regime occurring for small heaters embedded on the boundary in subcooled water. The microheater is realized by focusing a continuous wave laser beam to about $10\, $m in diameter onto a 165\,nm-thick layer of gold, which is submerged in water.

A non‐fluorescent immunohistochemistry method for measuring autophagy flux using MAP1LC3/LC3 and SQSTM1 as core markers

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We introduce an immunohistochemistry method to measure autophagy flux, highlighting the active degradation and recycling of cellular waste. This cost‐effective approach uses tissue samples to track key markers like LC3 and SQSTM1, revealing how cells maintain health or respond to diseases such as cancer. It bridges the gap between research and clinical
