Two-Phase Flow Boiling in a Microchannel Heat Sink

Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS), 2001
Abstract A micro heat sink comprising 10 microchannels integrated with a local heater and a temperature microsensor array has been fabricated on a silicon wafer using standard micromachining techniques. A glass wafer was anodically bonded to the silicon wafer in order to cap the trapezoidal microchannels, about 14μm in depth and 120μm in

Characteristics of Two-Phase Flow Boiling in Microgap Channel

2013
The current chapter presents the heat transfer and pressure data of three different dimension microgap heat sinks collected during the experimental program. Experimental results are discussed to characterize the two phase flow boiling heat transfer and pressure drop behaviors in microgap channel.

Prediction of a subcooled boiling flow with advanced two-phase flow models

Nuclear Engineering and Design, 2012
a b s t r a c t Prediction of bubble size which governs interfacial transfer terms between the two phases is of impor- tance for an accurate prediction of the subcooled boiling flow. In the present work, a mechanistic bubbles size model, Swas examined to enhance the prediction capability of subcooled boiling flows for the CFD (computational fluid ...

Flow Regime Identification in Boiling Two-Phase Flow in a Vertical Annulus

Journal of Fluids Engineering, 2011
This work describes the application of an artificial neural network to process the signals measured by local conductivity probes and classify them into their corresponding global flow regimes. Experiments were performed in boiling upward two-phase flow in a vertical annulus.

Stability of the Boiling Two-Phase Flow of a Magnetic Fluid

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2007
Elucidation of magnetic stabilization of boiling two-phase flow by utilizing the magnetization of the fluid is proposed herein. The effect of magnetic field on the stability of the boiling two-phase pipe flow of the magnetic fluid under a nonuniform magnetic field is investigated both theoretically and experimentally.

The Boiling Crisis Phenomenon in Two-phase Flow

1987
An analytic model of the flow boiling crisis in annular flow (at high vapour quality) and own experimental results of Freon 21 are presented in the paper. The model is based on the analysis of the film drying process on the channel wall, thus expressing the mass balance of both the film and the core by means of differential equations.
