TMC4 localizes to multiple taste cell types in the mouse taste papillae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Transmembrane channel‐like 4 (TMC4), a voltage‐dependent chloride channel, plays a critical role in amiloride‐insensitive salty taste transduction. TMC4 is broadly expressed in all mature taste cell types, suggesting a possible involvement of multiple cell types in this pathway.

Novel Algorithms Based on Majorization Minimization for Nonnegative Matrix Factorization

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Matrix decomposition is ubiquitous and has applications in various fields like speech processing, data mining and image processing to name a few. Under matrix decomposition, nonnegative matrix factorization is used to decompose a nonnegative matrix into ...

Hardware Acceleration of a Generalized Fast 2-D Convolution Method for Deep Neural Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
The hardware acceleration of Deep Neural Networks (DNN) is a highly effective and viable solution for running them on mobile devices. The power of DNNs is now available at the edge in a compact and power-efficient form factor with the aid of hardware ...

From Blood Oxygenation Level Dependent (BOLD) signals to brain temperature maps [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A theoretical framework is presented for converting Blood Oxygenation Level Dependent (BOLD) images to temperature maps, based on the idea that disproportional local changes in cerebral blood flow (CBF) as compared with cerebral metabolic rate of oxygen ...

The multiple zeta value algebra and the stable derivation algebra

open access: yes, 2003
The MZV algebra is the graded algebra over ${\bold Q}$ generated by all multiple zeta values. The stable derivation algebra is a graded Lie algebra version of the Grothendieck-Teichm\"{u}ller group.

Microglial dynamics and ferroptosis induction in human iPSC‐derived neuron–astrocyte–microglia tri‐cultures

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A tri‐culture of iPSC‐derived neurons, astrocytes, and microglia treated with ferroptosis inducers as an Induced ferroptosis model was characterized by scRNA‐seq, cell survival, and cytokine release assays. This analysis revealed diverse microglial transcriptomic changes, indicating that the system captures key aspects of the complex cellular ...

Experimental Design Modulates Variance in BOLD Activation: The Variance Design General Linear Model

open access: yes, 2018
Typical fMRI studies have focused on either the mean trend in the blood-oxygen-level-dependent (BOLD) time course or functional connectivity (FC). However, other statistics of the neuroimaging data may contain important information.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...
