Molecular systematics and biological diversification of Boletales

Mycologia, 2006
Historical patterns of morphological evolution and ecology in the Boletales are largely unresolved but appear to involve extensive convergence. We studied phylogenetic relationships of Boletales based on two datasets. The nuc-lsu dataset is broadly sampled and includes roughly 30% of the described species of Boletales and 51 outgroup taxa across the ...

Peptaibol Production by Sepedonium Strains Parasitizing Boletales

Chemistry & Biodiversity, 2007
AbstractFungi of the genus Sepedonium (anamorphic ascomycetes) are known to infect fruiting bodies of Basidiomycetes of the order Boletales. We have characterized twelve Sepedonium isolates by intact‐cell mass spectrometry (IC‐MS) with the help of respective biomarkers and their metabolite spectra focusing on peptaibol production.

Retiboletus atrofuscus (Boletaceae, Boletales), a new species from China

Archives of Microbiology, 2022
Based on morphological and phylogenetic analyses, an ectomycorrhizal fungus collected from Jiangxi, China, is described as a new species. R. atrofuscus is morphological characterized by a dark gray to black pileus, white to pale yellowish white hymenophore, a grayish brown to pale yellow context, which turning orange-yellow to rusty yellow when injured,

Antiproliferative and Antioxidant Activities of Wild Boletales Mushrooms from France

open access: yesInternational Journal of Medicinal Mushrooms, 2018
We selected edible and inedible mushrooms growing in the Mediterranean area of France to screen their biological activity: Caloboletus calopus, Rubroboletus lupinus, R. pulchrotinctus, R. satanas, Gyroporus castaneus, Suillus luteus, and Omphalotus olearius. Mushrooms were sequentially extracted using cyclohexane, chloroform, ethanol, and water.

Use of atp6 in Fungal Phylogenetics: An Example from the Boletales

Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 1999
Complete nucleotide sequences have been determined for atp6 from Suillus luteus and cox3 from Suillus sinuspaulianus (Boletales, Hymenomycetes, Basidiomycota), which code for ATPase subunit 6 and cytochrome oxidase subunit 3, respectively. These sequences were used to design PCR primers for the amplification of partial atp6 and cox3 sequences from ...

Aldridgea (Fungi: Boletales): A Synonym of Coniophora

Kew Bulletin, 1997
The genus Aldridgea was established by Massee (1892a) to accommodate effused, resupinate fungi 'allied to Coniophora in the large, coloured spores, but distinguished by the subgelatinous consistency when growing'. The basidiospores were said to be 'smooth, elliptical, coloured'.
