Partial Dynamical Symmetries in Nuclei

open access: yes, 2000
Partial dynamical symmetries (PDS) are shown to be relevant to the interpretation of the $K=0_2$ band and to the occurrence of F-spin multiplets of ground and scissors bands in deformed nuclei.

SPG4 and Dementia: Expanding the Clinical Spectrum

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) is a group of disorders characterized by progressive spasticity and lower limb weakness, with mutations in SPG4/SPAST being the most common cause. Detailed studies and clinical and molecular comparisons across different populations are missing.

The Bologna Process and the reform of medical education [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In 1988, the Magna Charta Universitatum was signed at a meeting of European University rectors on the occasion of the 900th Anniversary of the University of Bologna to mark their commitment to harmonising the European Higher Education sector ...

Copolymers of Poly(Butylene Trans‐1,4‐Cyclohexanedicarboxylate)/Pripol as New Biomaterial Platform for Small Diameter Vascular Graft

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Electrospun tubular scaffolds from novel PBCE‐based copolyesters and blends were designed as candidates for small‐diameter vascular grafts. They combine defect‐free architecture, blood‐compatible surfaces, and mechanical properties comparable to native vessels.

The emotional mapping of Bologna's heritage: an educational action in teacher training

open access: yesDidattica della storia, 2023
This proposal is based on the need to make future teachers more aware of the teaching of heritage from a relational approach based on the links and emotions woven with their territory, shaped by the richness of its places and traditions that bring people

Mapping Nanoscale Protein‐Corona Kinetics of DoE‐Optimized Perfluorocarbon Encapsulated‐PLGA Nanoparticles by In Situ, Time‐Resolved Synchrotron SAXS

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐phase workflow (OFAT screening followed by central composite design) maps how processing variables tune PFCE‐PLGA nanoparticle size, dispersity, surface charge, loading, and 19F‐MRI signal. In situ, time‐resolved synchrotron SAXS tracks albumin‐corona growth on intact dispersions and reveals PFCE‐dependent adsorption pathways.

Switzerland goes Europe? Swiss Education Policy Making under the Impact of the Bologna Process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In the last decade, comprehensive reforms were introduced in Swiss higher education that modified both the policy making procedures and the structure of the education system. The reforms were promoted by an international initiative – the Bologna Process.

Analytic resummation and power corrections for DIS and Drell--Yan [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Dimensional continuation is applied to resummed expressions for the DIS and Drell-Yan partonic cross sections, to regularize the Landau pole. Simple analytic expression are obtained, encoding information about nonperturbative power--suppressed effects ...

Linking Device Performance to Nanoscale Photoactivation of Grain Boundaries in 2D Hybrid Halide Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The opto‐electronic response of polycrystalline (PEA)2PbBr4 thin films is investigated by correlating macroscopic photodetector performance with nanoscale mapping techniques. Grain boundary density is systematically tuned through crystallization control and linked to device responsivity.

The Role of Shape Commensurability in Chirality Transfer: Gold Nanoshape Solutes in a Discotic Nematic Liquid Crystal Solvent

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We report on a suitable approach to predict the chirality “strength” and efficacy of chirality transfer from chiral nanoshape solutes to an achiral discotic nematic (ND) liquid crystal solvent. Highly efficacious chirality transfer based on shape commensurability between nanoshape solute (in the form of gold nanodiscs, GNDs) and a ND solvent was ...
