Bombyx mori pylorus infection by Alphabaculovirus
Alphabaculovirus is an entomopathogenic virus genus that infects Bombyx mori, which is known as the Bombyx mori multiple nucleopolyedrovirus (BmMNPV). This virus is polyorganotrophic, and a series of tissues are known as targets; however, there is currently no information regarding infection in the pylorus, the segment of the hindgut that is present in

Conductive silk‐polypyrrole scaffolds couple redox stability with cell‐affinitive peptides present innately in an endogenous silk fibroin, enabling optimized electrical stimulation to drive neurite outgrowth. Findings establish electrochemical‐biological link for biomaterial design rules for smart nerve guidance conduits that can provide low voltage ...

Skin grafts : local quest for viable alternatives to autologous grafts using silk and acellular dermal matrices [PDF]
The gold standard with regards to skin transplantation is the use of the patient’s own skin obtained from a healthy donor site. Such grafts can be either full thickness skin or more commonly nowadays, split thickness skin.

Impact of photoperiod on circadian trehalose and trehalase rhythms in the digestive system of silkworm, Bombyx mori [PDF]
Circadian trehalose and trehalase rhythms were studied in the digestive system of Bombyx mori under 12 hr light-dark cycle (LD), continuous light (LL) and continuous dark (DD).

Reference Transcriptome Data in Silkworm Bombyx mori [PDF]
Herein, we performed RNA-seq analysis of ten major tissues/subparts of silkworm larvae. The sequences were mapped onto the reference genome assembly and the reference transcriptome data were successfully constructed. The reference data provided a nearly complete sequence for sericin-1, a major silk gene with a complex structure.

During pupal metamorphosis and starvation, elevated 20‐hydroxyecdysone (20E) and suppressed insulin trigger Forkhead box O (FOXO) nuclear translocation, enhancing miR‐375‐3p expression. This downregulates fatty acid synthase (FASN) and Relish, promoting lipid breakdown for energy while prioritizing antioxidant responses over immune functions to support

Glutamine synthetase activity during embryonic and larval development of the silkworm Bombyx mori L. and role of a JH analogue [PDF]
Silkworm eggs of diapause nature were chilled or treated with hydrochloric acid. Glutamine synthetase activity in such treated eggs was present soon after the treatment, whereas in non-diapause eggs it was not detectable until 24 h after the start of ...
