IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

The effect of the common bond and membership expansion on credit union risk [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines differences in institutional risk profiles based on credit union membership type and membership expansion via “select employee groups,” or SEGs, which are now expressly allowed by the Credit Union Membership Access Act of 1998.

Experimental and Theoretical Investigations on the Bond–Slip Behavior of Newly Poured Concrete and Reinforcement Bars Under Traffic-Induced Vibrations in Bridge Widening

open access: yesInternational Journal of Concrete Structures and Materials
This study investigates the bond–slip behavior of newly poured concrete and reinforcement bars under traffic-induced vibrations in bridge widening. Center pull-out tests were conducted on C60 concrete specimens with HTRB400 steel bars to examine the ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Compositional Effects on the Tensile Behavior of Atomic Bonds in Multicomponent Cu93−xZrxAl7 (at.%) Metallic Glasses

open access: yesMolecules
The mechanical properties of materials are fundamentally determined by the behavior of atomic bonds under stress. Probing bond behavior during deformation, however, is highly challenging, particularly for materials with complex chemical compositions and ...
