Novel Quick Value Assessment Procedure Of The Bond Work Index

open access: yes, 2023
The bond index is an indicator of the grindability of the material and is widely used in the preparation of mineral raw materials and the cement industry. Paper offers new, abbreviated and simplified procedure to determine Bond work index that relies on first-order kinetics law and can be performed with any number of grinding cycles, depending on the ...

Curing mechanism of resole phenolic resin based on variable temperature FTIR spectra and thermogravimetry-mass spectrometry

open access: yesPolymers and Polymer Composites, 2022
To solve the problem that the curing mechanism evolution of phenolic resin catalyzed by Ba(OH) 2 remained unclear, the p-p methylene index, o-p methylene index, o-o methylene index, hydroxymethyl index, and ether index were introduced to quantitatively ...

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Bond´s work index estimation using non-standard ball mills

open access: yesPhysicochemical Problems of Mineral Processing, 2023
Ore concentrators seek the stability of processes by feeding blends of rocks with average hardness and ore content. Therefore, large amounts of samples must be characterized in a short time. The Bond Work Index (Wi) is a common technique for the estimation of hardness and energy requirement for comminution using ball mills.
