General Synthesis of Amorphous Pd‐Based Nanoparticles Towards Highly Efficient Nitrate‐to‐Ammonia Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A family of amorphous palladium‐based multi‐component phosphides nanoparticles, synthesized via a robust one‐step wet‐chemical method, overcoming the immiscibility of different elements and the difficulty in forming a stable, disordered structure. When applied in the electrochemical nitrate reduction reaction, these nanocatalysts effectively suppress ...

Viscoelastic study of an adhesively bonded joint [PDF]

open access: yes, 1983
The plane strain problem of two dissimilar orthotropic plates bonded with an isotropic, linearly viscoelastic adhesive is considered. Both the shear and the normal stresses in the adhesive are calculated for various geometries and loading conditions ...

Targeting Post‐Irradiation Thyroid Dysfunction: Electrospun Scaffolds As A Dual‐Action Approach for Antioxidant and Immune Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Radiation‐induced hypothyroidism follows head and neck radiotherapy due to oxidative stress and inflammation. Electrospun polycaprolactone scaffolds containing adenosine have potential to modulate thyroid repair. Scaffolds enhance thyrocyte proliferation, antioxidant enzymes glutathione peroxidase and catalase, reduce senescence and apoptosis markers ...

Coaxially Electrospun Myocardial dECM‐ Based Nanofibrous Scaffolds Demonstrate Enhanced Cardiomyocyte Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Our coaxial electrospinning system is capable of incorporating decellularized myocardial extracellular matrix in a core‐sheath configuration, creating nanofibrous scaffolds. These scaffolds, in turn, support the maintenance of functional cardiomyocytes adhered to the surface of these bioactive scaffolds.

Atomic Layer Deposition Processes: Versatile Platforms for Engineering ZnO‐Chitosan Biointerfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Vapour phase metalation (VPM), multiplied pulsed vapour phase infiltration (MPI), and O2 plasma‑enhanced atomic layer deposition (PEALD) tailor Zn–chitosan (Zn‑CS) films. PEALD improves wettability and biocompatibility. MPI enhances semiconductor behavior. Antiseptic selectivity: VPM → E. coli; MPI → H. pylori.

Stress Analysis on Adhesive Bonded Joint of Composite Tube due to Torsion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The purpose of this thesis is aimed to predict that what kind of adhesive bonded joint of composite tube the can obtain more efficient structure. APC-2 sixteen-layer laminates of AS-4/PEEK were used as adherends, including cross-ply [0/90]4S and quasi ...

Immunoinflammatory Mechanisms and Biocompatibility of Bioactive Dental Biomaterials: From Fundamental Insights to Clinical Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Surface‐host dialogue at the implant interface governs biological fate and osseointegration. Surface physicochemical properties of titanium (Ti) dental implants, including microgrooves, nanopatterns, nanotopography, roughness, and wettability, modulate the initial adsorption of proteins and the formation of a dynamic biointerface.

Comparing Bolt Implementation Methods in Vibration Testing for Accurate Dynamic Behavior Analysis

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Vibration testing is crucial for understanding structural dynamics, yet conventional modeling of bolt connections often leads to significant inaccuracies. This study systematically compares six bolt connection methods—bonded, adaptive bonded, joint, beam,

Experimental and Numerical Failure Analysis of Adhesive Composite Joints

open access: yesInternational Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 2012
In the first section of this work, a suitable data reduction scheme is developed to measure the adhesive joints strain energy release rate under pure mode-I loading, and in the second section, three types of adhesive hybrid lap-joints, that is, Aluminum ...
