Shear bond strength of three different fixed retainers: Stainless steel wires versus fiber reinforced composite (An in Vitro study)

open access: yesErbil Dental Journal, 2022
Background and Objectives: Long term preservation of lingual retainer after active orthodontic treatment is mandatory in oral cavity to prevent teeth relapse to its original place before treatment which is documented in orthodontics and considered as a ...

A comparative study of CAD/CAM fabricated polyether ether ketone and fiber-glass reinforcement composites versus metal lingual retainers under vertical load (an in vitro study)

open access: yesBMC Oral Health, 2023
Background Retainer is a necessary procedure when orthodontic treatment complete to avoid relapse due to periodontal fiber elasticity and to allow for alveolar bone regeneration.

Partial-retainer design considerations for zirconia restorations

open access: yes, 2010
Objective: Bond strength limitations of adhesive zirconia restorations have stood as a barrier against their widespread use. Selective infiltration etching is a new surface treatment that enhances bonding to zirconia-based materials. Beside bond strength,

Periodontal parameters of two types of 3 x 3 orthodontic retainer: a longitudinal study

open access: yesDental Press Journal of Orthodontics
Introduction: bonded fixed retainers are often used to stabilize the results obtained with the orthodontic treatment. It is important that they do not prejudice dental health, as they will be used for a long period.

A Multidirectional Textile Interface for Remote Control Using Dynamic Area‐Based Capacitance Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Here, we present a textile, wearable capacitive interface enabling multidirectional remote control by dynamically modulating electrode overlap and spacing via a freely gliding upper electrode. A forearm‐mounted prototype drives robotic and media tasks with 12–15 ms latency, maintains < 0.8% drift after 500 cycles, and remains stably functional at 90 ...

CLRe: A Synergistic Dual‐Engine Framework for One‐Step Retrosynthesis Prediction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CLRe uses a contrastive difficulty score to order pretrained seq2seq fine‐tuning for retrosynthesis. Reaction embeddings define the ranking score, and a cumulative easy‐to‐hard schedule expands from the easiest subset to the full training set while earlier examples remain active.

Long-term effectiveness of canine-to-canine bonded flexible spiral wire lingual retainers

open access: yes, 2011
Item does not contain fulltextINTRODUCTION: The flexible spiral wire (FSW) canine-to-canine lingual retainer bonded to all 6 anterior teeth is a frequently used type of mandibular fixed retainer.

Survival of maxillary and mandibular bonded retainers 10 to 15 years after orthodontic treatment: a retrospective observational study

open access: yesProgress in Orthodontics, 2019
Background The long-term evidence regarding failures of fixed retainers is limited and the aim of this cohort study was to assess the long-term risk of failure of one type of maxillary and two types of mandibular fixed lingual retainers.

Carrier‐Free Berberine/Nitidine Chloride Self‐Assembled Nanoparticles Induce Ferroptosis to Overcome Bortezomib Resistance in Multiple Myeloma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A schematic illustrating the fabrication process and ferroptosis‐mediated therapeutic mechanism of carrier‐free self‐assembled BBR/NC‐SAPs for overcoming bortezomib resistance in multiple myeloma. ABSTRACT Therapeutic relapse driven by bortezomib resistance represents a formidable clinical barrier in the management of multiple myeloma (MM).
