在骨质疏松的防治中,骨质量研究正引起人们的普遍兴趣和重视,此与骨密度(BMD)测量不能解释的许多临床现象有关,如应用氟剂治疗椎体BMD虽有很大改善,但却不能明显降低其骨折率;经抗骨折吸收的药物治疗,虽BMD面积改变不明显,但却能明显降低骨折率等.因此多方位地开展骨质量研究,会提高对骨质疏松诊疗水平,从骨组织衰老规律的角度来研究维护和改善骨质量有其重要意义。
