A Note on Translucency of Unglazed Bone-China Body

Transactions of the Indian Ceramic Society, 1984
Translucency of unglazed bone-china pieces of thickness 1–2 mm, fired at different temperatures, was measured. It was found that samples fired at temperatures less than 1150°c showed hardly any translucency for a reasonable soaking time. Thickness of samples was less critical than the firing temperatures.
