An Accessible Microfluidic Platform for the Generation of Polarized Brain Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study presents an accessible double‐gradient microfluidic device that enables controlled morphogen delivery and spatially polarized differentiation in brain organoids. By integrating a pump‐free design and stable fabrication method, the platform generates dorsal–ventral neuronal asymmetry, offering a reproducible and versatile approach to model ...

AMBAND Bone-Conduction Headband

Journal of the American Academy of Audiology, 2022
Abstract Purpose As bone-conduction thresholds vary with the coupling force between the vibrator and the head, it is important that the coupling force be within the range specified by audiometer standards. The development and validation of AMBAND, an elastic headband for coupling an audiometric bone vibrator to the head, in either the mastoid or ...

Hearing Thresholds with Direct Bone Conduction Versus Conventional Bone Conduction

Scandinavian Audiology, 1984
Some patients who need hearing aids are unable to use an aid which transmits the sound via the external ear canal but have to use a bone-conduction hearing aid. The pressure needed to apply the transducer often gives the patient discomfort, and the attenuating effect of the skin gives poor electroacoustical function of the aid.

Audiometrie Bone Conduction

Otolaryngologic Clinics of North America, 1978
Audiometric bone conduction test data are obtained with a unit that permits comparison with a recognized standard because the unit can be calibrated to operate within specified limits. Proper calibration of the unit is necessary if the equipment is to be accurate.
