Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) improved knee osteoarthritis (KOA) in rats by regulating interleukin‐1β (IL‐1β), IL‐6, and IL‐8 expressions and the bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP‐2)/transforming growth factor β (TGF‐β) signaling pathway.

This study comprises three experimental parts. Part 1. Time‐course of ouabain‐induced hearing loss. Rats received ouabain (10 mM) via round window application. ABR/DPOAE tests and histological analyses were performed at 2, 7, and 30 days post‐treatment to characterize SGN and glial cell degeneration. Part 2.

Functional morphology of the pharyngeal teeth of the ocean sunfish, Mola mola
Abstract Many fish use a set of pharyngeal jaws in their throat to aid in prey capture and processing, particularly of large or complex prey. In this study—combining dissection, CT scanning, histology, and performance testing—we demonstrate a novel use of pharyngeal teeth in the ocean sunfish (Mola mola), a species for which pharyngeal jaw anatomy had ...

Decalcification of coral as a model of osteoporosis in trabecular bone
Decalcified coral was used as a model for osteoporosis in trabecular bone. Seven coral samples were incrementally decalcified to 31% mass loss. Porous density changes from decalcification match porous density changes in osteoporitic bone.
