ABSTRACT Background Changes in legislation and social attitudes towards transgender and gender diverse (TGD) people have prompted clinical and ethical questions about the experiences, care, and health outcomes of TGD patients in medical imaging. Aim The aim of this scoping review is to identify the main themes surrounding TGD patient care in medical ...

Bed rest is a recognized model for muscle atrophy and bone loss in space flight and in clinical medicine. We hypothesized that whole body vibration in combination with resistive exercise (RVE) would be an effective countermeasure.

Alterations of bone proteins in medication‐related osteonecrosis of the jaw
Abstract Changes in the protein expression pattern of osteoblastic lineage cells from the alveolar bone (OLAB) during medication‐related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) have rarely been investigated. This lack of information is partly because of the limited availability of healthy samples and the lack of human alveolar bone cell lines for research ...

Bone densitometry for the assessment of osteoporosis
The primary clinical role of the non-invasive\ud physical measurement of a bone, generally\ud referred to as ‘bone densitometry,’ is to identify\ud those subjects at risk of an osteoporotic fracture\ud and their subsequent response to pharmaceutical\ud ...

Congenital dyserythropoietic anemia type I (CDA‐I) arises from mutations in Codanin1 and CDIN1. Using quantitative biophysical approaches, we show that disease‐associated mutations disrupt the CDIN1‐Codanin1 complex. Our findings provide critical insights into the molecular mechanism that links protein dysfunction to disturbing chromatin arrangement ...

Bone Mineral Density in Children and Adolescents with Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia
Chronic glucocorticoid therapy is associated with reduced bone mineral density. In paediatric patients with congenital adrenal hyperplasia, increased levels of androgens could not only counteract this effect, but could also advance bone age, with ...

Quantitative analysis of DNA‐GATA1 binding alterations linked to hematopoietic disorders
Native holdup allows the quantitative determination of affinities between full‐length transcription factors and DNA. Mutations in either the protein or the DNA can modulate binding strength, which can be precisely quantified using this approach. Applied to GATA1, it revealed mutations that alter DNA binding.

Effects of Reproductive Factors on Bone Mineral Densitometry
Aim: To determine the effects of reproductive factors on bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women. Materials and Methods: A total of 1196 postmenopausal women with BMD (g/cm2) measurements at lumbar vertebra (LS) and femur neck (FN) were ...
