Identification of a Distal Enhancer That Regulates TGF‐β–Induced SNAI1 Expression

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
In TGF‐β–stimulated cells, the activated Smad complex composed of Smad3 and Smad4 associates with the distal super enhancer region 2 (DSE2) and enhances its interaction with the SNAI1 proximal promoter, thus inducing SNAI1 expression. RREB1 regulates the basal activity of the enhancer but not its inducibility by TGF‐β.

PC4 Potentially Predicts Chemoradiation‐Induced Antitumor Immunity in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
In present study, we describe the tumor‐infiltrating CD8+T cells pattern induced by neoadjuvant chamoradiation (CRT) in human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), and reveal that PC4 expression predicted CRT‐induced antitumor immune response with high probability and may help stratify subgroups with better prognosis in patients with locally ...

Mechanism of EC‐EXOs‐Derived THBS3 Targeting CD47 to Regulate BMSCs Differentiation to Ameliorate Bone Loss

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
EC‐EXOs could regulate the differentiation of BMSCs through the key protein THBS3, which inhibits their differentiation to lipogenic cells and promotes their differentiation to osteoblasts. THBS3 could down‐regulate the expression of its downstream target CD47 and delay the process of bone loss in aged mice and OVX mice, which may provide a novel ...

Macrophage Efferocytosis as a Therapeutic Strategy in Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Macrophages, integral to degenerated intervertebral discs, play a critical role in disc degeneration. By performing efferocytosis, they clear apoptotic cells. This article explores the process of efferocytosis, its molecular mechanisms, potential therapeutic implications for intervertebral disc degeneration and future strategies for targeted treatments.
