Co‐overexpression of the caloric restriction‐induced mitochondrial factors PGC‐1α and MIPEP upregulates Phospho1 expression in adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Caloric restriction that extends lifespan induces the expression of PGC‐1α and MIPEP in white adipose tissue. In this study, co‐overexpression of Pgc‐1α and Mipep upregulated the gene expression of PHOSPHO1. These findings provide new insights into mitochondria‐related mechanisms underlying the effects of caloric restriction in adipocytes.

Stem Cells and Acellular Preparations in Bone Regeneration/Fracture Healing: Current Therapies and Future Directions

open access: yesCells
Bone/fracture healing is a complex process with different steps and four basic tissue layers being affected: cortical bone, periosteum, fascial tissue surrounding the fracture, and bone marrow.

Characterization of ribosome heterogeneity during endothelial to hematopoietic transition

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The panorama of ribosome heterogeneity during embryonic hematopoiesis has not yet been portrayed. In this study, utilizing dual‐omics data, the heterogenous dynamic of ribosome during endothelial‐to‐hematopoietic transition has been systemically described. Moreover, stage‐specific upregulation and peripheral localization of RPL27 and RACK1 in hemogenic

Role of Metformin in Improving Non-Union Bone Fracture Healing in a Diabetic Rat Model

open access: yesFoot & Ankle Orthopaedics
Category: Basic Sciences/Biologics, Diabetes Introduction/Purpose: Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease that interferes with bone formation, increases fracture risk and impairs fracture healing in the foot and ankle.

Risk analysis of the Unity 1.5T MR‐Linac adapt‐to‐shape workflow

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose The adapt‐to‐shape (ATS) workflow on the Unity MR‐Linac (Elekta AB, Stockholm, Sweden) allows for full replanning including recontouring and reoptimization5. Additional complexity to this workflow is added when the adaptation involves the use of MIM Maestro (MIM Software, Cleveland, OH) software in conjunction with ...

Bone regeneration with resorbable polylactide membrane and sponge in an unstable fracture model in rabbit radius [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Open Access journalConference Theme: Bone Tissue EngineeringBACKGROUND: Healing of segmental diaphyseal bone defects in animals can be enhanced by covering the defects with resorbable polylactide membranes. Based on the results of bone healing in defects
