Eccrine poromatosis following chemotherapy and radiation therapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Eccrine poroma presents as a single, symptomless erythematous papule in areas with a high density of eccrine sweat glands. Although rare, eccrine poromas can present as multiple lesions, otherwise known as eccrine poromatosis.

Bimetallic Nanoreactor Activates cGAS‐STING Pathway via mtDNA Release for Cancer Metalloimmunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bimetallic Mn–Ca nanoreactor (MCC) is developed as a non‐nucleotide STING nanoagonist for cancer metalloimmunotherapy. MCC induces Ca2+ overload and hydroxyl radical generation, resulting in mitochondrial damage and mtDNA release. The released mtDNA cooperates with Mn2+ to robustly activate cGAS–STING signaling.

Haploidentical, matched-related, and matched-unrelated hematopoietic cell transplant for acute leukemias in the early years of haploidentical transplant implementation in a developing country with a large unrelated donor registry

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
IntroductionOver the last decades, the donor network for hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) has grown exponentially, including unrelated and haploidentical (Haplo) donors.

Microchimerism, dendritic cell progenitors and transplantation tolerance [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
The recent discovery of multilineage donor leukocyte microchimerism in allograft recipients up to three decades after organ transplantation implies the migration and survival of donor stem cells within the host.

Germanane Quantum Dots Promote Metabolic Reprogramming of Immune Cells Toward Regulatory T Cells and Suppress Inflammation In Vitro and In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metabolic changes in immune cells direct the phenotype and function of the host immune system. Smart nanomaterials must target metabolic pathways to direct immune cell fate. This study reports the fabrication and first application of germanane quantum dots (GeHQDs) to modulate inflammation in vitro and in vivo.

Bone Marrow Transplantation in Thalassemia

open access: yesHematology/Oncology Clinics of North America, 1991
Since 1983, 350 patients aged 1 to 19 years with beta-homozygous thalassemia were given infusions of HLA-identical marrow after high doses of busulphan and cyclophosphamide. Survival and event-free survival leveled off about 1 year after bone marrow transplantation at 82% and 75%, respectively.

Cold Quad‐Modal Nanocomplex for Precise and Quantitative In Vivo Stem Cell Tracking

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multimodal albumin–bismuth sulfide–superparamagnetic iron oxide (ABS) nanocomplexes are developed for stem cell tracking across four different imaging modalities: MRI, MPI, MSOT, and CT. Combining its flexibility with high sensitivity, this quad‐modal imaging agent enables a robust quantification of ABS‐labeled stem cells in vivo.

Injectable Dual‐Network Hydrogel System for Osteochondral Repair Combining Immunomodulation, Mechanical Adaptability, and Enhanced Tissue Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A UV‐triggered injectable dual‐network hydrogel is reported as the first application of bletilla striata polysaccharide (BSP) in osteochondral repair. By integrating methacrylamide‐modified BSP and nitrobenzaldehyde‐functionalized hyaluronic acid, the system achieves immunomodulation, mechanical reinforcement, and dynamic tissue adhesion, thereby ...
