The composition of mineral waters sourced from Europe and North America in respect to bone health: composition of mineral water optimal for bone [PDF]
The consumption of mineral waters is increasing in industrialised countries. High intakes of Ca and other alkalising cations as well as a low acid intake are beneficial to bone.

Dietary Acid Load and Bone Turnover During Long-Duration Spaceflight and Bed Rest [PDF]
Background Bed rest studies document that a lower dietary acid load is associated with lower bone resorption. Objective We tested the effect of dietary acid load on bone metabolism during spaceflight. Design Controlled 4-d diets with a high or low animal

An injectable cold atmospheric plasma‐activated decellularized tumor extracellular matrix hydrogel is introduced as a post‐surgical immunoactivation platform. The engineered gel attracts residual tumor cells and induces immunogenic cell death, reshaping the tumor microenvironment and eliciting systemic antitumor immunity. In combination with checkpoint

Drawing inspiration from the layered hard‐soft architecture found in sea sponges, this work establishes a new framework for architected cementitious composites (ACC) through multi‐material additive manufacturing (MMAM) process. The integration of mortar and elastomer phases into layered architectures enables synergistic toughening mechanisms, including

Bone mineral content in women.
Osteoporosis is characterised by a reduction in bone mass that may result in fracture, particularly of the vertebrae, proximal femur and lower forearm. Dual photon absorptiometry is a reliable method of assessing Bone Mineral Content and thus predicting osteoporosis. Osteoporosis especially in women is preventable.
