Bone Mineral Content in Women with Vertebral Fractures
Acta Medica Scandinavica, 1980ABSTRACT. Postmenopausal women, classified as osteoporotics on the basis of clinical and microradiographic findings, were found to have a low bone mineral content as compared with age‐matched controls. The bone mineral content in 12 patients on a dietary supplement of calcium and vitamin D did not decrease during a two‐year follow‐up period.

A densitometric method of determining the mineral content of bone
The British Journal of Radiology, 1972Abstract A new reference system for the densitometric measurement of bone mineral in vivo is proposed. A solution of ZnCl2 in water with the same effective atomic number as hydroxyapatite is described. The concentration is calculated from a modification of the equation of Spiers (1946) for determining Zeff of a chemical compound.

The relationship between the stiffness and the mineral content of bone
Journal of Biomechanics, 1969The modulus of elasticity (E) of bone increases very rapidly with increase in mineral content, and in this is atypical of most composite materials. It is proposed that this apparent anomaly is caused by the end-to-end fusion of apatite crystals as the matrix becomes saturated with mineral.

[Bone mineral density and bone mineral content variations in various communities].
Anales espanoles de pediatria, 2000To study the bone mineral density (DMO) and the bone mineral concentration (CMO) in lumbar spine (L2 and L4) by dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry with a lunar DPX (DEXA) in a children sample of the community of Madrid; to relate the values obtained with the age, sex and pubertal development; and to compare the values of DMO found with the publications ...
