Efficacy of copolymer scaffolds delivering human demineralised dentine matrix for bone regeneration

open access: yesJournal of Tissue Engineering, 2019
Poly(L-lactide-co-ε-caprolactone) scaffolds were functionalised by 10 or 20 µg/mL of human demineralised dentine matrix. Release kinetics up to 21 days and their osteogenic potential on human bone marrow stromal cells after 7 and 21 days were studied.

Bone morphogenetic protein-7: Review of signalling and efficacy in fracture healing

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Translation, 2016
Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are a group of signalling molecules that belong to the transforming growth factor-β superfamily of proteins. Initially identified for their ability to induce bone formation, recent advances in the understanding of ...

Effect of combinatorial bone morphogenetic protein 2 and bone morphogenetic protein 7 gene delivery on osteoblastic differentiation [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Korean Academy of Periodontology, 2009
Purpose: Gene therapy (ex vivo) has recently been used as a means of delivering bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) to sites of tissue regeneration. In the present study, we investigated the effect of co-transduction of adenoviruses expressing BMP-2 and BMP-7 on osteogenesisof C2C12 cells in vitro.

Bone Morphogenetic Protein (BMP)-7 expression is decreased in human hypertensive nephrosclerosis

open access: yesBMC Nephrology, 2010
Background Bone Morphogenetic Protein (BMP)-7 is protective in different animal models of acute and chronic kidney disease. Its role in human kidneys, and in particular hypertensive nephrosclerosis, has thus far not been described. Methods BMP-7 mRNA was

Bone morphogenetic protein-7 release from endogenous neural precursor cells suppresses the tumourigenicity of stem-like glioblastoma cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Glioblastoma cells with stem-like properties control brain tumour growth and recurrence. Here, we show that endogenous neural precursor cells perform an anti-tumour response by specifically targeting stem-like brain tumour cells.

BMP2/BMPR1A is linked to tumour progression in dedifferentiated liposarcomas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Bone Morphogenic Protein 2 (BMP2) is a multipurpose cytokine, important in the development of bone and cartilage, and with a role in tumour initiation and progression.

Microporous Microgel Assemblies Facilitating the Recruitment and Osteogenic Differentiation of Progenitor Cells for Bone Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
There is a significant need for biomaterials with well‐defined stability and bioactivity to support tissue regeneration. In this study, we developed a tunable microgel platform that enables the decoupling of stiffness from porosity, thereby promoting bone regeneration.

Osteogenic proteins (bone sialoprotein and bone morphogenetic protein-7) and dental pulp mineralization

open access: yesJournal of Materials Science: Materials in Medicine, 2002
Bone sialoprotein (BSP) cross-linked to collagen/gelatin was implanted in the pulp of rat's upper molars. Comparison was carried out with a sham group (non implanted), with a group of rats receiving the carrier alone, and a group of molars where the perforated pulps were capped with calcium hydroxide.

Near‐Infrared Organic Photovoltaic Electrodes for Subretinal Neurostimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Organic photovoltaic electrodes based on the D18:Y6 blend enable precise and light‐controlled activation of retinal ganglion cells in a degenerating retina. NIR Light‐driven activation of retinal ganglion cells, tunable stimulation parameters, and biocompatibility with human retinal organoids highlight their potential for next‐generation prosthetics ...
