Timing of ACL injuries during elite male football (soccer) matches—Impact of player position, substitutes, contact mechanisms, possession status and situational pattern: An analysis of 369 ACL injuries

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To document the timing of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries according to match minute and effective minutes played during football matches, considering player position, substitutions, contact mechanism, possession status and situational pattern.

Limited correlation between clinical failure and MRI graft status in the setting of revision anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To investigate whether clinically failed anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstructions can be accurately identified using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Methods This prospective case series included 81 patients (mean age 33.5 ± 11.9 years, 50.6% male) with clinically failed ACL reconstructions defined by Lachman ≥ Grade 2, Pivot ...

Reduced patella medialization in valgus and varus knees using a KA‐optimized femoral component in kinematically aligned TKA

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose Patellofemoral complications after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) are linked to femoral component design and trochlear alignment. This study compared the effects of a kinematically aligned (KA)‐optimized femoral component versus a standard design on patellofemoral kinematics, contact mechanics and quadriceps function, using native knee ...

7 T MRI Connectivity‐Guided Reprogramming Improves Deep Brain Stimulation Motor Outcome in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Deep brain stimulation (DBS) of the subthalamic nucleus (STN) is an established treatment for Parkinson's disease (PD). Using 7‐Tesla (7 T) MRI connectivity analysis to visualize the patient‐specific STN motor subdivision, we hypothesize that reprogramming patients who are stimulated outside of this subdivision can improve their ...

COVID‐19 Amplifies Sex‐Specific Dopamine and Glial Responses in a Parkinson's Disease Mouse Model

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Exposure to environmental agents, including viral infections, may increase Parkinson's disease (PD) susceptibility, especially in males, but the neurodegenerative risk extent of COVID‐19 remains uncertain. Objectives We investigated the plausible link between severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) infection and

Sensing in Sacral Neuromodulation: Objective, Individualized Stimulation Response Thresholds Directly From the Lead

open access: yesNeurourology and Urodynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Sacral neuromodulation (SNM) therapy today relies on visually observed motor responses (e.g., anal bellows contraction, toe flexion) and subjective patient feedback (pelvic region sensations) to optimize lead placement and perform device programming.

Apigenin Protects Hypertensive Intracerebral Hemorrhage by Regulating Trx1 Through Binding to PRDX2

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) remains the most severe stroke subtype with high mortality and disability rates. Although apigenin has shown cerebroprotective potential in preclinical studies, its mechanism of action, particularly in hypertensive ICH, remains poorly understood.

Betulinic Acid Counteracts Statin‐Induced PCSK9 Upregulation Through FXR/SHP‐Associated Signaling

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, EarlyView.
Betulinic acid attenuates atorvastatin‐induced increases in PCSK9 expression and secretion while maintaining or increasing LDLR expression in hepatocyte‐derived cells. Mechanistic studies support the involvement of FXR/SHP signaling and show increased SHP–SREBP2 association.

Training on the quadriceps of individuals with rheumatoid arthritis: A systematic review and meta‐analysis

open access: yesRheumatology &Autoimmunity, EarlyView.
Physical training significantly improves quadriceps strength in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. No serious adverse events were reported. Abstract Background Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic, systemic disease in which patients can benefit from physical exercise.

Synergistic Toxicity of Low‐Concentration Metal Mixture on Male Rats: Reproductive, Renal, and Hepatic Effects

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mining plays a crucial role in economic development, but improper management can lead to severe environmental degradation. Particularly for iron ore, mining generates vast amounts of tailings often stored in unstable dams. This study aims to investigate the toxicological impacts of environmentally relevant concentrations of metals mixture ...
