Study of film formation in EHD contacts using a novel method based on electrical capacitance

open access: yes, 2011
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University. The elastohydrodynamic lubrication regime (EHD) is found in many machine elements, such as rolling element bearings, gears, cam/tappet, where a combination ...

Plasmakristall‐4 Experiment: 10 Years of Operation in Orbit

open access: yesContributions to Plasma Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Plasmakristall‐4 (PK‐4) is a microgravity complex plasma laboratory operated for 10 years on board the International Space Station. Its main purpose is the particle‐resolved investigation of generic condensed matter phenomena using strongly coupled suspensions of microparticles immersed in low‐pressure gas‐discharge plasmas.

Dual‐Mode Electrophoretic Displays Enabled by Quantum Dot‐Decorated PR48:2 Pigment Particles and TiO2 for All‐Weather Visibility, Excellent Bistability, and Enhanced Readability

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel quantum dot electrophoretic display (QDEPD), which combines electro‐controlled reflection and optically‐triggered emission to achieve efficient multi‐modal switching within a single pixel. By incorporating multi‐component nanostructures, the system enhances functional integration and multi‐modal response capabilities.

Global nonlinear optimization for the estimation of static shift and interpretation of 1-D magnetotelluric sounding data

open access: yesAnnals of Geophysics, 2011
In the presence of conducting inhomogeneities in near-surface structures, apparent resistivity data in magnetotelluric sounding can be severely distorted. This is due to electric fields generated from boundary charges on surficial inhomogeneities.

Effect The Use of Steel Fibers (Dramix) on Reinforced Concrete Slab

open access: yesCSID Journal of Infrastructure Development, 2019
Currently concrete technology continues to grow and continue to innovate one of them using fibers. Fiber concrete has advantages over non-fiber concrete, among others: strong against the effect of shrinkage, ability to reduce crack, fire resistance, etc.

Genus and book thickness of reduced cozero-divisor graphs of commutative rings

open access: yesRevista de la Unión Matemática Argentina
Summary: For a commutative ring \(R\) with identity, let \(\langle a\rangle\) be the principal ideal generated by \(a\in R\). Let \(\Omega (R)^*\) be the set of all nonzero proper principal ideals of \(R\). The reduced cozero-divisor graph \(\Gamma_r (R)\) of \(R\) is the simple undirected graph whose vertex set is \(\Omega (R)^*\) and such that two ...

Chemistry Underlying the Behavior of Food and Agricultural Components During Industrial Manufacturing Processes and Its Implications in Quality Assurance, Food Quality, and Food Safety Management: A Systematic Review

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Industrial manufacturing processes have transformative effects on the components of food matrix. These transformations in food matrix and components have direct implications for quality assurance (QA), food quality (e.g., nutritional profile and texture), and food safety management (e.g., pathogen control and toxin mitigation). ABSTRACT This systematic

SEDIMENTOLOGY OF BAYFILLS IN THE NESLEN FORMATION, BOOK CLIFFS, USA, WITH SPECIAL FOCUS ON THE IMPACT FROM EARLY COMPACTION ON THICKNESS- AND LITHOFACIES DISTRIBUTION

open access: yes, 2021
The Neslen Formation of the Mesaverde Group (eastern Book Cliffs, Utah) accumulated along the western margins of the Western Interior Seaway. The formation is subdivided into Lower-, Middle-, and Upper Neslen Interval. The Lower Neslen Interval is composed of fluvial channel-fills and floodplain muds, overlain the marginal-marine interdistributary bay ...

How emerging market firms learn to lead in complex product systems: Evidence from China's civil aircraft industry

open access: yesGlobal Strategy Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary The rise of emerging market lead firms (LFs) in global value chains (GVCs) challenges the prevailing view that only multinational corporations (MNCs) from advanced economies lead systems integration, design, and innovation activities.
