Multimodal Human–Robot Interaction Using Human Pose Estimation and Local Large Language Models

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A multimodal human–robot interaction framework integrates human pose estimation (HPE) and a large language model (LLM) for gesture‐ and voice‐based robot control. Speech‐to‐text (STT) enables voice command interpretation, while a safety‐aware arbitration mechanism prioritizes gesture input for rapid intervention.

BDD, BNN, and FPGA on Fuzzy Techniques for Rapid System Analysis

open access: yesAdvances in Fuzzy Systems, 2012
This paper looks at techniques to simplify data analysis of large multivariate military sensor systems. The approach is illustrated using representative raw data from a video-scene analyzer. First, develop fuzzy neural net relations using Matlab.

DRIVE‐SAFE: Data‐Driven Robustness and Informed Validation for Evolving Specifications via Formal Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
DRIVE‐SAFE evaluates learning‐based, black‐box autonomous driving policies against evolving temporal safety requirements using Signal Temporal Logic robustness metrics. It aggregates distributional robustness measures with domain‐informed weights to guide iterative retraining.

Contextual Random Boolean Networks

open access: yes, 2003
We propose the use of Deterministic Generalized Asynchronous Random Boolean Networks [Gershenson, 2002] as models of contextual deterministic discrete dynamical systems. We show that changes in the context have drastic effects on the global properties of the same networks, namely the average number of attractors and the average percentage of states in ...

Ferroelectric Devices for In‐Memory and In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by biological systems, in‐memory and in‐sensor computing overcome von Neumann bottlenecks. Ferroelectric devices can mimic synaptic functions and sense stimuli like light or force, therefore are ideal for these paradigms. This review introduces the ferroelectric devices applied for in‐memory and in‐sensor computing, covering their structures ...

Conversion between Logic and Algebraic Expressions of Boolean Control Networks

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The conversion between logic and algebraic expressions of Boolean control networks plays a worthy role in the analysis and design of digital circuits. In this paper, for a single Boolean function, a direct conversion between the minterm canonical form ...

Intrinsic Dual‐Phase Regulated GeSe2 Nanoparticles Triggered by Ball‐Milling Treatment for Photonic Multi‐Valued Logic Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We report the solid‐state ball milling, a traditional, reliable, mass‐productive material processing, to prepare the air‐stable and dual‐phase GeSe2‐x nanoparticles with extended photodetection feasibility toward optical‐wavelength regions. We further display photonic multi‐valued logic (MVL) circuit through the employment of a hybrid PMMA/GeSe2‐x ...

Towards in silico prognosis using big data

open access: yesCurrent Directions in Biomedical Engineering, 2016
Clinical diagnosis and prognosis usually rely on few or even single measurements despite clinical big data being available. This limits the exploration of complex diseases such as adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) where the associated low bone mass ...

A Generative Neuro‐Symbolic AI for Protein Sequence Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We introduce EffieDes, a neuro‐symbolic framework coupling deep learning‐based fitness landscape parameterization with exact automated reasoning. Unlike greedy sampling, EffieDes identifies sequences that globally optimize fitness while satisfying intricate design constraints.

Gene regulatory network state estimation from arbitrary correlated measurements

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2018
Background Advancements in gene expression technology allow acquiring cheap and abundant data for analyzing cell behavior. However, these technologies produce noisy, and often correlated, measurements on the transcriptional states of genes.
