Metabolism of [14C]Amitraz in Larvae of Boophilus Microplus [PDF]
Amitraz, 1 ,5-di(2,4-dimethylphenyl)-3-methyl-1 ,3,5-triazapenta-1 ,4-diene, labelled with 14C in the 2-methyl groups was applied to B. micro plus larvae by an immersion technique. The chemical penetrated readily but never appeared in large amounts internally due to rapid cleavage to N-2,4- dimethylphenyl-N'-methylformamidine.

Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus
Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus Aitken et al. (1958) recorded a few specimens of the southern cattle tick R. (B.) microplus from cattle and sheep in Trinidad. Williams and Gonzalez (1968) observed that Holstein heifers imported into Trinidad from Canada with the intent to develop a dairy industry were exposed to tick-infested pastures and that ...

A Boophilus microplus vitellin-degrading cysteine endopeptidase [PDF]
Here we describe the purification and characterization of a vitellin (VT) degrading cysteine endopeptidase (VTDCE) from eggs of the hard tick Boophilus microplus. A homogeneous enzyme preparation was obtained by chromatographic fractionation on ion-exchange and gel filtration columns and an autolysis step.
