Digital combination of buck and boost converters to control a positive buck-boost converter
2006 37th IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2006A high efficiency control strategy for operating a buck-boost switching regulator is presented in this paper. The sophisticated control technique can regulate an output voltage for an input voltage, which is higher, lower, or the same as the output voltage. There are several existing solutions to these problems, but all have their disadvantages.

Analysis of PFC and THD with the boost converter
2015 23nd Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2015In this paper, the boost converter topology which has advantages over other converter topologies is used to correct power factor and to reduce total harmonic distortion. Single Phase average current mode controlled PFC circuit is simulated by MATLAB/Simulink simulation tool and simulation results are verified.

Boost PFC converter versus bridgeless boost PFC converter EMI analysis
2014 International Conference on Applied and Theoretical Electricity (ICATE), 2014The main drawback related to the PFC converters is the increasing of the electromagnetic interference (EMI). Thus, the high frequency noise must be filter out in order to ensure compliance with EMI European standards (EN 1000-3-2 or EN 1000-3-4). The paper investigates two topologies: the conventional boost PFC converter and the bridgeless boost PFC ...

Dynamics and control of ZCZVT boost converters
IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, 2005In this paper, the small-signal mathematical model of a zero-current-zero-voltage-transition (ZCZVT) soft-switching boost power converter is proposed. It shows that the ZCZVT boost converter exhibits better dynamic behavior than the conventional pulsewidth modulated boost converter.

Research on Soft Switching Boost Converter
2011 Second International Conference on Digital Manufacturing & Automation, 2011This text introduce a sort of new soft switching Boost converter. The conventional Boost converter generates switching loss at turn on and off. So the whole system's efficiency is reduced. The proposed converter utiLizes soft switching method using an auxiLiary switch and resonant cirCuit.

A Controller for a Boost Converter With Harmonic Reduction
IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 2004An adaptive controller for the compensation of output voltage ripple due to harmonic distortion in the input voltage is proposed for a pulse width modulated (PWM) boost converter. Following the Lyapunov approach, we designed an adaptive law to cope with uncertainties in the disturbance signals and parameters.

The stability of a chaotic PWM boost converter
International Journal of Circuit Theory and Applications, 2011AbstractA novel chaotic pulse‐width‐modulation (PWM) boost converter has been previously proposed to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) in DC–DC converters, where the circuit design and simulations have been conducted, but the problems such as the mean value estimation of state variables for circuit parameter design, the ripple estimation of the

Design of Boost Converter for PV Applications
2016This paper presents a detailed design of portable boost converter. The input is obtained by using photovoltaic (PV) system along with the maximum power point tracking algorithm (MPPT) to pull out maximum power. The boost converter is used to increase the fluctuating PV array voltage to high constant DC voltage.

A Novel Voltage-boosting Converter: KY Converter
APEC 07 - Twenty-Second Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2007In this paper, a novel voltage-boosting converter, named as KY converter (i.e. one-plus-D converter) is presented herein. Unlike the traditional non-isolated boost converter, this converter possesses fast transient load responses, similar to the buck converter behavior. Besides, it possesses non-pulsating output current, thereby not only decreasing the

Comparison of Boost-Type ĆUK'S PWM-Resonant Converter with Conventional Boost Converter
2018 2nd International Symposium on Multidisciplinary Studies and Innovative Technologies (ISMSIT), 2018In this study, boost-type Cuk's PWM-resonant converter is compared with the conventional boost converter in terms of required inductor size, efficiency, and dynamic response. The inductor sizes required by both topologies are selected based upon the core geometrical constant design method.
