Dual Boost High performances Power Factor Correction (PFC)
2008 Twenty-Third Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2008In this paper a novel power factor correction (PFC) dual boost scheme is proposed. It is based on an optimized power sharing where the active filtering approach is used to increase the current quality and at the same time to reduce the switching losses.

Power-Factor-Corrected and Fully Soft-Switched PWM Boost Converter
IEEE transactions on industry applications, 2018This paper presents a power-factor-corrected and fully soft switched (PFC-FSS) continuous conduction mode pulse-width modulated (PWM) boost converter. The converter has an active snubber cell, which guarantees the soft-switching operation of mosfets and ...

Splitting Factor Analysis and Multi-Class Boosting
2006 International Conference on Image Processing, 2006We develop splitting factor analysis (SFA), a novel linear model selection technique for dimension reduction that seeks to optimize the discriminative ability of the nearest neighbor classifier for data classification and labeling. We also discuss methodology for data kernelization that can be used in conjunction with any model selection technique ...

Control of unity power factor boost converter
Proceedings of MELECON '94. Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference, 2002Owing to the growing concern regarding harmonic pollution in power distribution systems, and the adoption of standards such as IEC 555-2, there is a need for power supplies whose AC line currents are low in harmonic content and have power factor close to unity.

A new boost power factor pre-regulator
Proceedings of the IEEE 1999 International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems. PEDS'99 (Cat. No.99TH8475), 1999A novel boost power factor corrector using a single switch is discussed. The new circuit is analyzed in steady state and experimental results obtained from a laboratory prototype are also provided. The novel converter has low current and voltage stresses and has a simple control loop to achieve near unity power factor with the aid of the commercially ...

Content-boosted matrix factorization for recommender systems
Proceedings of the fifth ACM conference on Recommender systems, 2011The Netflix prize has rejuvenated a widespread interest in the matrix factorization approach for collaborative filtering. We describe a simple algorithm for incorporating content information directly into this approach. We present experimental evidence using recipe data to show that this not only improves recommendation accuracy but also provides ...

Power Factor Control Using Boost Type Converter
2018 IEEE 3rd Advanced Information Technology, Electronic and Automation Control Conference (IAEAC), 2018AC-DC power factor correction (PFC) single-stage converters both PFC and power conversion are done at the same time using a single converter that regulates the output. While using Switch Mode Converters (SMRs) for conversion from AC to DC, it enhances harmonics of the fundamental frequency at the input source thus increases the total Harmonic ...
