Breit-Wigner Enhancement of Dark Matter Annihilation

open access: yes, 2008
We point out that annihilation of dark matter in the galactic halo can be enhanced relative to that in the early universe due to a Breit-Wigner tail, if the dark matter annihilates through a pole just below the threshold.

Modulation Doping Enables Ultrahigh Power Factor and Thermoelectric ZT in n‐Type Bi2Te2.7Se0.3

open access: yesAdvancement of science, 2022
Bismuth telluride‐based thermoelectric (TE) materials are historically recognized as the best p‐type (ZT = 1.8) TE materials at room temperature. However, the poor performance of n‐type (ZT≈1.0) counterparts seriously reduces the efficiency of the device.

Predicting Chronicity in Children and Adolescents With Newly Diagnosed Immune Thrombocytopenia at the Timepoint of Diagnosis Using Machine Learning‐Based Approaches

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To identify predictors of chronic ITP (cITP) and to develop a model based on several machine learning (ML) methods to estimate the individual risk of chronicity at the timepoint of diagnosis. Methods We analyzed a longitudinal cohort of 944 children enrolled in the Intercontinental Cooperative immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) Study ...

Comparative study of CFSI,Trans-CFSI and SL-QSBI

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, 2020
This paper presents the comparative analysis of the three types of inverters which are Current-Fed Switched Inverter (CFSI), Trans-Current-Fed Switched Inverter (Trans-CFSI), and improved Switched Inductor-Quasi Switched Boosted Inverter (SL-QSBI). Also,

A Brief Review on Dark Matter Annihilation Explanation for $e^\pm$ Excesses in Cosmic Ray

open access: yes, 2009
Recently data from PAMELA, ATIC, FERMI-LAT and HESS show that there are $e^{\pm}$ excesses in the cosmic ray energy spectrum. PAMELA observed excesses only in $e^+$, but not in anti-proton spectrum. ATIC, FERMI-LAT and HESS observed excesses in $e^++e^-$

A Systematic Review of Evidence on the Clinical Effectiveness of Surveillance Imaging in Children With Medulloblastoma and Ependymoma

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Surveillance imaging aims to detect tumour relapse before symptoms develop, but it's unclear whether earlier detection of relapse leads to better outcomes in children and young people (CYP) with medulloblastoma and ependymoma. This systematic review aims to identify relevant literature to determine the efficacy of surveillance magnetic ...

Astrophysical boost factor and dark matter indirect detection

open access: yes, 2010
The PAMELA [1], ATIC[2] and Fermi[3] collaborations have recently reported an excess in the cosmic ray positron and electron fluxes. These lepton anomalies might be related to cold dark matter particles annihilating within a nearby dark matter sub-halo ...

Prognostic Impact of Treatment Modalities, Including Targeted Compartmental Radio‐Immunotherapy, in a Cohort of Neuroblastoma Patients With CNS Metastases at Relapse

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroblastoma (NB) with central nervous system (CNS) metastases is rare at diagnosis, but occurs more often during relapse/progression. Patients with CNS metastases face a dismal prognosis, with no standardized curative treatment available.

Interleaved Modified SEPIC Converters with Soft Switching and High Power Factor for LED Lighting Appliance

open access: yesApplied Sciences
A novel ac/dc LED driver with power factor correction and soft-switching functions is proposed. The circuit topology mainly consists of two modified single-ended primary inductance converters (SEPIC) with interleaved operation.
