Molecular basis for the activation of Aurora A and Plk1 kinases during mitotic entry [PDF]

open access: yesThe EMBO Journal
The evolutionarily conserved, intrinsically disordered protein Bora is critical for initiating the activation of mitotic kinases. Once phosphorylated at Ser112 by Cyclin A-Cdk1 kinase, phospho-Bora activates unphosphorylated Aurora A kinase (AURKA ...

SGLT2 Inhibitors Are Associated With Suppression of the Sema3A/NRP1/Plexin-A1 Signaling Axis in Postmenopausal Women With Type 2 Diabetes: Evidence From Propensity Score-Matched Analysis. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Diabetes
Propensity score‐matched comparison of 23 SGLT2 inhibitor users and 23 non‐users revealed that SGLT2 inhibitor use was associated with significantly lower Neuropilin‐1 (NRP1) levels (74.25 vs. 87.61 ng/mL; p = 0.015) and a higher Sema3A/NRP1 ratio (0.14 vs.

Politicising Recovery: Why Early Intervention Must Move Beyond the Imperative of Functioning. [PDF]

open access: yesEarly Interv Psychiatry
ABSTRACT Aim To articulate the politicisation of recovery as a conceptual and clinical framework for early intervention in psychosis and to argue why the field must move beyond the imperative of functioning. Observation Early intervention for ultra‐high‐risk states and first‐episode psychosis has improved symptomatic outcomes, yet a persistent gap ...

Intestinal peroxisome proliferator‐activated receptor α‐fatty acid‐binding protein 1 axis modulates nonalcoholic steatohepatitis

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract Background and Aims Peroxisome proliferator‐activated receptor α (PPARα) regulates fatty acid transport and catabolism in liver. However, the role of intestinal PPARα in lipid homeostasis is largely unknown. Here, intestinal PPARα was examined for its modulation of obesity and NASH. Approach and Results Intestinal PPARα was activated and fatty

Assessing the Risks of Vessel Icing and Aviation Hazards during Downslope Windstorms in the Russian Arctic

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2021
Downslope windstorms are known sources of hazardous weather, such as severe gusty winds, rapid temperature changes, ship icing, strong turbulence and others, posing a great danger to people and infrastructure.

Influence of Novaya Zemlya Bora on Sea Waves: Satellite Measurements and Numerical Modeling

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2020
This paper investigates for the first time sea waves during Novaya Zemlya bora—a downslope windstorm on the western coast of the archipelago during eastern winds—using a statistical and case-study approach.

Redshifting TADF Emission With a Bora‐Triptycene Lewis Acid

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Bathochromic emission shifting of donor–acceptor and multi‐resonant TADF emitters is achieved by adduct formation with a thia‐bora‐triptycene Lewis acid. TADF properties are retained on adduct formation whilst delivering > 100 nm redshift of the emission.

Identification of Genes Mediating Drosophila Follicle Cell Progenitor Differentiation by Screening for Modifiers of GAL4::UAS Variegation

open access: yesG3: Genes, Genomes, Genetics, 2017
The Drosophila melanogaster ovarian follicle cell lineage provides a powerful system for investigating how epigenetic changes contribute to differentiation.
