Combined Effects of Thermal Cycling Aging and Reinforcement Content on the Ball‐On‐Disk Wear of Additively Manufactured Polylactic Acid Composites

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Thermal Aging and Tribological Tests of Additive Manufactured PLA Composites. ABSTRACT This study focuses on the additive manufacturing of pure polylactic acid (PLA) specimens and milled glass fiber (GF)‐filled PLA composites under thermal cycling aging and wear tests. Wear tracks have been analyzed via 3D optical profiling and SEM imaging.

Tracing social history from synchronic linguistic and ethnographic data: The prehistory of Resígaro contact with Bora

open access: yesMundo Amazónico, 2015
The Amazonian language Resígaro was heavily influenced by the unrelated, neighboring Bora language. Bora influence involves cultural assimilation, some loanwords, and heavy morphological borrowing. What social circumstances lead to this influence?

Mesoscale Bora flow and mountain pressure drag

open access: yesMeteorologische Zeitschrift, 1995
The paper analyses the Bora periods on the basis of 10-minute microbarographic measurements (ALPEX 50P, March-April 1982) and the corresponding surface pressure drag values.

Dual‐Functionality, Bio‐Friendly Artificial Muscles for Actuation and Motion Sensing in Smart Wearable Systems

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This work presents a biofriendly carbon nanotube yarn artificial muscle operating either as an in‐air unipolar actuator or as a self‐powered ionotronic strain sensor. Using a non‐volatile eutectogel‐derived electrolyte, the system achieves up to 2.9% contraction and 0.5 mV/% strain sensing sensitivity.

Reconstructing Contact Space Biographies in Sudan During the Bronze Age

open access: yesHumans
Traditional models of interaction in northern Sudan have innate Egyptological, elite, and urban biases which have relegated certain areas to mere peripheries of more ‘established’ and ‘central’ sites.

The effects of moose and pine density on browsing damage in Swedish pine forests

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Moose Alces alces is a culturally and economically important game species in Sweden, but their browsing on regenerating Scots pine trees Pinus sylvestris often causes extensive damage to the production and quality of timber. Forest and wildlife managers are faced with the dilemma of how to reduce damage to timber trees while also supporting moose ...

Exploratory MRI and Clinical Marker Analysis of Pustulotic Arthro‐Osteitis Disease Activity From a Phase 3 Brodalumab Trial

open access: yesThe Journal of Dermatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pustulotic arthro‐osteitis (PAO) is a clinically important osteoarticular comorbidity affecting approximately 9%–28% of patients with palmoplantar pustulosis (PPP), yet early recognition and standardized activity assessment remain challenging, particularly in routine dermatology practice.
