The Boranes and Their Relatives
Science, 1977This year, 1976, the Nobel Prize in Chemistry has been awarded for research in pure inorganic chemistry, in particular the boranes. May I say that I am most pleased and profoundly grateful. My own orientation to this field has been, as it has in all of my studies, the relationships of the chemical behavior of molecules to their three-dimensional ...

The reaction of the Grignard reagent (p-C(6)F(4)H)MgBr with Me(2)SnCl(2) afforded the p-C(6)F(4)H transfer reagent Me(2)Sn(p-C(6)F(4)H)(2) (1). Subsequent reaction of 1 with BCl(3) led to the chloroborane (p-C(6)F(4)H)(2)BCl (2), which was converted to the borane [(p-C(6)F(4)H)(2)BH](2) (3) by treatment with the hydride source Me(2)SiHCl.

Mechanisms and Processes for Conversion of Smaller Boranes to Larger Boranes or Borane Fragments.
1980Abstract : Successful isolation and characterization of Me3NB4H8 revealed an aspect of the base catalysis of borane condensation, and triggered the discovery of new hypho class compounds B4H8(2PMe3) and B3H5(3PMe3). Formation of a new class (klado) of compound B4H6(4PMe3) was confirmed also.

Hydrazine borane-induced destabilization of ammonia borane, and vice versa
Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2014In the field of solid-state chemical hydrogen storage, ammonia borane NH3BH3 has been widely studied while hydrazine borane N2H4BH3 can be considered as a "novel" material. In the present work, we investigated the behaviour of these boranes when mixed together in a mole ratio of 1:1. Hydrazine borane and ammonia borane destabilize each other.
