BORDETELLA BRONCHISEPTICA BACTERIOPHAGE
Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 1961Thirty-eight phages were isolated from 48 strains of Bordetella bronchiseptica, and three additional phages were obtained as spontaneous, virulent mutants of these isolates. No evidence of induction was obtained upon exposing lysogenic B. bronchiseptica to ultraviolet light. Thirty-five of the 48 strains of B.

Bordetella bronchiseptica pneumonia in a koala
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association, 1993A 3-year-old male koala (Phascolarctos cinereus) was evaluated because of severe acute respiratory distress. Despite medical treatment, the koala died. Gross and histologic lesions consistent with acute bacterial pneumonia were identified at necropsy and Bordetella bronchiseptica was isolated from pulmonary tissue.

Canine Parainfluenza-Bordetella bronchiseptica Vaccine: Immunogenicity
American Journal of Veterinary Research, 1981SUMMARY The immunogenicity and safety of 3 serials of a canine parainfluenza (cpi) virusBordetella bronchiseptica vaccine were evaluated. Each serial was used to vaccinate 10 dogs with single doses given intranasally. The 30 vaccinated and 10 nonvaccinated control dogs were challenge exposed with aerosols of virulent cpi virus and B bronchiseptica at ...

Characterization of haemagglutinin from Bordetella bronchiseptica
Vaccine, 1991In comparison with haemagglutinin (HA)-active strains of Bordetella bronchiseptica, the HA-deficient strains lacked a 150 kDa protein band on SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). Adsorption of partially purified HA with bovine erythrocytes showed the loss of the 150 kDa band in the supernatant.

POSTSURGICAL MENINGITIS CAUSED BY BORDETELLA BRONCHISEPTICA
The Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal, 2003Bordetella bronchiseptica is a common commensal and respiratory pathogen in many wild and domestic animals, but it is a rare cause of human infection. There have been reports of human respiratory tract infection and bacteremia, occurring predominantly in immunocompromised patients and the elderly. We report a case of B.

Bordetella bronchiseptica infections in cats
Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association, 1996Eleven cats from 10 different households or catteries were diagnosed with Bordetella bronchiseptica (B. bronchiseptica) infections. Seven cases proved fatal, in which B. bronchiseptica pneumonia was a primary or significant cause of death. The majority of cases (seven of 11) were in kittens less than eight weeks old. A universal complaint was coughing.

Bordetella bronchiseptica infection in the cat
Journal of Small Animal Practice, 1999Feline Bordetella bronchiseptica infection had received little consideration until recent years when it has been increasingly documented in association with respiratory disease. This article reviews current knowledge on the organism; its epidemiology, pathogenesis, and clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic features.

Imaging Findings in Human Bordetella bronchiseptica Pneumonia
Journal of Thoracic Imaging, 2011Bordetella bronchiseptica is a gram-negative coccobacillus, which causes respiratory infection in dogs, rabbits, and pigs, and is rarely a human pulmonary pathogen. We present 2 immunocompromised patients diagnosed with B. bronchiseptica pneumonia. To our knowledge, these are the first reports of this disease in patients with B-cell lymphoma and an ...
