The Reproductive Toxicity of Boric Acid [PDF]

open access: yesEnvironmental Health Perspectives, 1994
Previous studies on the reproductive toxicity of boric acid have indicated that male rodents suffer testicular atrophy after treatment. There were, however, no studies of the potential effects on female fertility or on the neonate. In addition, no study described the development of the testicular lesion, thought to be related to the mechanism of ...

Janus Photonic Graphics by Stratified Assembly of Two Distinct Colloids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Double‐sided Janus photonic micropatterns with vivid structural colors are fabricated through a single‐step bottom‐up strategy. Density‐driven stratification and depletion‐mediated crystallization of PMMA and PS binary colloids lead to exclusive lattices on opposite surfaces under centrifugal force.

Prediction of a Family of Cage-shaped Boric Acid Clusters

open access: yes, 2016
Equilibrium geometries, energies, and vibrational frequencies of cage-shaped boric acid clusters including the onion-like structure have been calculated at the HF/6-31G and B3LYP/6-31G(d) levels of theory.

Coupling Anodic Activity and Stability at Ni‐Based Non‐Oxide Catalysts via Coordinating Alcohol Oxidation and Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A cooperative and competitive interrelationship between alcohol oxidation (AOR) and water oxidation (OER) was observed on a typical anode catalyst of Ni2P. In situ Raman spectroscopy and electrochemical analyses revealed a specific complementary mechanism between them, in which OER and AOR critically contribute to the activity and stability of anodic ...

Comparing the Therapeutic Effects of Boric Acid and Fluconazole in the Treatment of Vaginal Candidiasis [PDF]

open access: yesمجله دانشگاه علوم پزشکی گیلان
Background Candida vaginitis is the second most common cause of vaginitis in women after bacterial vaginitis. Among the approved treatments, boric acid has been proposed as an effective treatment for drug resistance and disease recurrence.

Development of New Boric Acid Gel Baits for Use on Invasive Ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae)

open access: yesSociobiology, 2020
The current control measures used against common household ants in urban and agricultural settings include perimeter insecticide applications. These often have the potential to cause problems of poisoning non-target organisms, due to the insecticidal ...

A NEW COLORIMETRIC DETERMINATION OF BORIC ACID, BORIC ACID AND FLUORINE CONTENTS OF THERMAL WATERS IN TOTTORI PREFECTURE. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1952
A new colorimetric method of determination of boric acid was devised, using ion-exchange resin, mannit and bromthymolblue. With this method determination of boric acid becomes capable by adding one ounce of mannit and ten cc.

Sustainable Electrochemical Synthesis of High‐Quality MXenes: Mechanistic Insights, Applications, Challenges, and Technological Prospects

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrochemical etching provides an eco‐friendly alternative to hazardous HF methods for MXene production. This approach facilitates the selective isolation of the A‐layer from MAX phases with tunable surface terminations. Controlling voltage, electrolytes, temperature, and duration enables the optimal structural integrity. Nevertheless, existing scale
