Demineralization of Turkish Tosya lignite coal by boric acid leaching

open access: yes, 2016
Boric acid is a weak inorganic acid type which is generally being used in glass, ceramics, detergents, agriculture, nuclear energy, and medicine fields, which has white crystal color and which can easily dissolve in water.

Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.

The effects of boric acid and citric acid on chiasma frequency and meiotic division in Chorthippus loratus (Acrididae:Orthoptera) males

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal, 2020
In this study, the cytogenetic effects of boric acid and citric acid in meiosis were investigated. Chorthippus loratus species of grasshoppers were treated with boric acid and citric acid sprayed grass at doses of 250, 500 and 1000 µg/ml for 24 hours. As

MANAGEMENT OF ACUTE ALUMINUM PHOSPHIDE TOXICITY IN RAT MODEL WITH A NOVEL INTERVENTION, A TRIAL OF BORIC ACID [PDF]

open access: yesThe Egyptian Journal of Forensic Sciences and Applied Toxicology, 2017
Aluminum phosphide (AlP) or rice tablet is a cheap pesticide. When it comes in contact with acid (gastric acid) or moisture, it releases phosphine (PH3) gas. The heart, lungs, liver are the main targets in acute Aluminum phosphide (AlP) poisoning.

Adaptable Covalent Organic Framework‐Hydrogel Microneedles for Glucose‐Responsive Isoliquiritigenin Delivery in Diabetic Wound Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a covalent organic framework‐loaded Traditional Chinese Medicine monomer nanodrug delivery system (ISL@bCOF) via boron‐oxygen bonds, a smart response to glucose for delivering AI‐driven isoliquiritigenin (ISL) targeting ZBP1. This dynamic release mechanism, combined with transdermal delivery technology via potent microneedles, can modulate ...

From Borax to Ultralong One-Dimensional Boric Acid

open access: yes, 2016
An extremely facile synthesis route to ultralong boric acid one-dimensional (1D) micron structures was developed, and the anisotropic growth of boric acid was interpreted by the rolling mechanism of layered structures.

Experimental Study and Reactive Transport Modeling of Boric Acid Leaching of Concrete

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2013
Borated water leakage through spent fuel pools (SFPs) at pressurized water reactors is a concern because it could cause corrosion of reinforcement steel in the concrete structure, compromise the integrity of the structure, or cause unmonitored releases ...

Depletion of Boric Acid and Cobalt from Cultivation Media: Impact on Recombinant Protein Production with Komagataella phaffii

open access: yesBioengineering, 2020
The REACH regulation stands for “Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals” and defines certain substances as harmful to human health and the environment. This urges manufacturers to adapt production processes.

Mixed‐Metal Promotion in a Manganese‐Molybdenum Oxynitride as Catalyst to Integrate C─C and C─N Coupling Reactions for the Direct Synthesis of Acetonitrile from Syngas and Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.
