Hierarchically nanostructured boron-doped diamond electrode surface

Diamond and Related Materials, 2017
Abstract A boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode with a large specific surface area was fabricated by formation of a hierarchical nanostructure. A BDD thin film was deposited on a silicon pillar array substrate fabricated using photolithography to obtain a BDD pillar array (BDD-PA). The BDD-PA was subjected to a two-step thermal treatment to form dense

Electrochemical Studies of Boron-doped Diamond Electrodes

MRS Proceedings, 1995
ABSTRACTThe evolution of hydrogen and oxygen from a 0.5 M H2SO4 solution on heavily borondoped diamond electrodes was studied. A very wide potential range without water decomposition, from approximately -1.5 to +2.75 V relative to the standard hydrogen electrode, was observed on high quality diamond. A much smaller range, from -0.7 to 1.7 V, and higher

Electrochemical oxidation of benzene on boron-doped diamond electrodes

Chemosphere, 2007
This work presents an electrochemical investigation of the benzene oxidation process in aqueous solution on boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes. Additionally, in order to determine the main products generated during the oxidation process, electrolysis and high performance liquid chromatography experiments were carried out.

Recent electroanalytical applications of boron-doped diamond electrodes

Current Opinion in Electrochemistry, 2022
Abstract This review overviews recent reports on the electroanalytical applications of boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes. Since BDD electrodes have excellent features for electroanalysis, such as wide potential window, low background current, electrochemical stability, and fouling resistance.

Degradation of microcystin-RR using boron-doped diamond electrode

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2009
Microcystins (MCs), produced by blue-green algae, are one of the most common naturally occurring toxins found in natural environment. The presence of MCs in drinking water sources poses a great threat to people's health. In this study, the degradation behavior of microcystin-RR on boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode was investigated under galvanostatic

Voltammetric determination of carvacrol on Boron Doped Diamond Electrode

Analytica Chimica Acta, 2019
A simple, sensitive and rapid method of carvacrol determination using Boron Doped Diamond Electrode (BDDE) and Differential Pulse Voltammetry (DPV) was described. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first presentation of electrochemical method to determine this compound on BDDE.

Impedance studies of boron-doped CVD diamond electrodes

Diamond and Related Materials, 2000
The mechanism of electron transfer across the boron-doped diamond electrode/electrolyte interface is investigated using impedance spectroscopy. At an oxygenated electrode surface, two time constants are observed in the impedance plots. The results are discussed in terms of surface-state-mediated electron transfer. © 2000 Elsevier Science S.A.

Using Boron-Doped Diamond Electrodes for Organic Synthesis

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2019
The use of electrochemistry for the generation of reactive intermediates can have major advantages towards conventional synthetic strategies. Less or no reagent waste is produced and new reaction pathways are accessible. In this context, we present the use of boron-doped diamond anodes for the sustainable synthetic approach to technically relevant ...

Toward a Boron-Doped Ultrananocrystalline Diamond Electrode-Based Dielectrophoretic Preconcentrator

Analytical Chemistry, 2016
This paper presents results on immunobeads-based isolation of rare bacteria and their capture at a boron-doped ultrananocrystalline diamond (BD-UNCD) electrode in a microfluidic dielectrophoretic preconcentrator. We systematically vary the bead surface chemistry and the BD-UNCD surface chemistry and apply dielectrophoresis to improve the specific and ...

The application of boron-doped diamond electrodes in amperometric biosensors

Talanta, 2009
Boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes outperform conventional electrodes in terms of high stability, chemical inertness, wide potential window and low background current. Combining the superior properties of BDD electrodes with the merits of biosensors, such as specificity, sensitivity, and fast response, amperometric biosensors based on BDD electrodes ...
