Boron-enhanced diffusion of boron from ultralow-energy boron implantation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
The authors have investigated the diffusion enhancement mechanism of BED (boron enhanced diffusion), wherein the boron diffusivity is enhanced three to four times over the equilibrium diffusivity at 1,050 C in the proximity of a silicon layer containing a high boron concentration.

Screening of antimicrobial resistance and molecular detection of fluoroquinolone resistance mechanisms in chicken faeces-derived Escherichia coli

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2016
This study was aimed at investigating the resistance to antimicrobial agents and to assess the predominant molecular mechanisms of fluoroquinolone resistance in faecal E. coli strains isolated from chickens farmed in central Poland.

Synchrotron Radiation for Quantum Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Materials and interfaces underpin quantum technologies, with synchrotron and FEL methods key to understanding and optimizing them. Advances span superconducting and semiconducting qubits, 2D materials, and topological systems, where strain, defects, and interfaces govern performance.

Poly(iminoborane)s with Aromatic Side Groups: Insights into the Microstructure from Monodisperse Model Oligomers

open access: yesChemistryEurope
While certain inorganic main‐group polymers such as silicones (polysiloxanes) are ubiquitous in our everyday life, poly(iminoborane)s have been elusive for a long time.

Potential microbiological threat to the Vistula waters by its tributaries in the vicinity of Kraków

open access: yesSoil and Water Research, 2015
The Vistula is the longest river in Poland. It stretches from the Silesian Beskids to the Gulf of Gdańsk. Water from the Vistula is the source of drinking water for many cities and is used in industry, and therefore its quality and microbiological purity

Catalytic role of boron atoms in self-interstitial clustering in Si [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Using density functional theory (DFT) calculations and kinetic simulations, we have investigated the influence of boron atoms on self-interstitial clustering in Si. From DFT calculations of neutral interstitial clusters with a single B atom (BsIn, nIn–1 +

Boron Chemistry for Medical Applications

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Boron compounds now have many applications in a number of fields, including Medicinal Chemistry. Although the uses of boron compounds in pharmacological science have been recognized several decades ago, surprisingly few are found in pharmaceutical drugs.
