Sexual development in early- and late-maturing Bos indicus and Bos indicus × Bos taurus crossbred bulls in Brazil [PDF]

open access: yesTheriogenology, 2004
Two experiments were conducted to evaluate sexual development in early- and late-maturing Nelore (Bos indicus) and Canchim (3/8 Bos indicus x 5/8 Bos taurus crossbred) bulls and to determine predictors of sexual precocity, and pubertal and maturity status. In Experiment 1, 12 Nelore bulls where examined from 300 to 900 days of age.

Alternative genotyping method for the single nucleotide polymorphism A2959G (AF159246) of the bovine CAST gene Método alternativo de genotipagem do polimorfismo de nucleotídeo único A2959G (AF159246) do gene CAST bovino

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira, 2008
The objective of this work was to genotype the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) A2959G (AF159246) of bovine CAST gene by PCR-RFLP technique, and to report its use for the first time. For this, 147 Bos indicus and Bos taurus x Bos indicus animals were

Y chromosome variants in cattle Bos taurus and Bos indicus [PDF]

open access: yesGenetics Selection Evolution, 1982
Summary It is shown that comparison of the size of the Y chromosome between individuals may be made as reliably by computation of measurement relative to the X chromosome as by proportionation relative to the genome in the cell. By either method agreement was found with previous studies : first in placing the Y in the size range, for the cattle ...
