Bose–Einstein condensation on curved manifolds

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2020
Here we describe a weakly interacting Bose gas on a curved smooth manifold, which is embedded in the three-dimensional Euclidean space. To this end we start by considering a harmonic trap in the normal direction of the manifold, which confines the three ...

Spinor Bose–Einstein condensates [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Reports, 2012
An overview on the physics of spinor and dipolar Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) is given. Mean-field ground states, Bogoliubov spectra, and many-body ground and excited states of spinor BECs are discussed. Properties of spin-polarized dipolar BECs and those of spinor-dipolar BECs are reviewed.

The effect of non-local derivative on Bose-Einstein condensation

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2021
In this paper, we study the effect of non-local derivative on Bose-Einstein condensation. Firstly, we consider the Caputo-Fabrizio derivative of fractional order α to derive the eigenvalues of non-local Schrödinger equation for a free particle in a 3D ...

On the Bose-Einstein Condensation [PDF]

open access: yesProgress of Theoretical Physics, 1956
We calculate the canonical partition function of the ideal Bose-Einstein gas by the modified method of steepest descent without the continuous spectrum approximation in the cases of periodic boundary condition and of perfectly reflecting wall condition. Above the critical point the steepest curve is the ordinary one through the saddle point.

Pair condensation in a dilute Bose gas with Rashba spin–orbit coupling

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
We show that in a two-component Bose gas with Rashba spin–orbit coupling (SOC), two atoms can form bound states (Rashbons) with any intra-species scattering length.

Boosting engine performance with Bose–Einstein condensation

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2022
At low-temperatures a gas of bosons will undergo a phase transition into a quantum state of matter known as a Bose–Einstein condensate (BEC), in which a large fraction of the particles will occupy the ground state simultaneously.

Bose-Einstein Condensation in Multilayers [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Low Temperature Physics, 2010
The critical BEC temperature $T_{c}$ of a non interacting boson gas in a layered structure like those of cuprate superconductors is shown to have a minimum $T_{c,m}$, at a characteristic separation between planes $a_{m}$.
